There is a new SUV for car buyers to choose from and the Citroen C5 Aircross is a stylish and impressive creation.

Citroen is looking to extend its SUV offering and this new generation has some unique features and a long list of options to develop the personalisation offering including 30 exterior colour scheme combinations.

Citroen says the new C5 Aircross is the most comfortable SUV in its segment – mainly down to the hydraulic suspension and advanced comfort seats.

The new Citroen C5 Aircross also offers unrivalled modularity so the rear seats have three settings including reclining, folding and sliding and there’s also the best in class boot space to consider.

However, the new high-tech Aircross comes with 20 driver assistance systems including grip control and highway driver assist.

There are also six connectivity technologies including a wireless smart phone charger.

Engines for the Citroen C5 Aircross

The range of engines for the Citroen C5 Aircross are designed to deal with everyday driving needs and also weekend getaways with a choice of a six speed manual box or Citroen’s eight speed automatic transmission.

From launch, there will be two petrol engines, the Puretech 130 and the Puretech 180.

There will also be three diesel engines and from next year the Aircross will be the first Citroen model that comes equipped with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain to deliver low emissions and a range of 37 miles in electric mode.

The Aircross also comes with raised ground clearance and side protection and there’s no mistaking that this is a Citroen in its design and cabin styling.

There’s also the latest in satnav technology and the ‘mirror screen function’ enables drivers to use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The firm is also adding its ‘connect box’ with SOS so emergency services can use geolocation to find the car when necessary after the driver has pushed an SOS emergency button.

The new Citroen C5 Aircross will be launched at the end of the year with the plug-in hybrid alternative available from late next year. A full spec and price list is yet to be revealed.
