Volkswagen Multivan Lease Deals

The Volkswagen Multivan is a six or seven-seat MPV offered with petrol, diesel or plug-in hybrid power and a choice of Life or Style trim. This page explains who it suits, what each version gives you, and how to pick before you look at the live lease deals below.

The Volkswagen Multivan is a six or seven-seat MPV built for people who genuinely need the space, not just the idea of it. It's Volkswagen's largest people carrier that isn't a van underneath.

It suits big families, multi-generational trips and anyone shuttling adults rather than squeezing them into a token third row. Reviewers consistently rate it as the most usable large people carrier on sale, and it has picked up seven-seater and family-car awards to match.

The choice is straightforward: one body, three powertrains - petrol, diesel or plug-in hybrid - and two trims, Life and Style. Browse the rest of the range on our Volkswagen leasing pages.

About the Volkswagen Multivan

The Multivan is a purpose-built MPV, around 4.97 metres long, with six or seven seats and a boot of 469 to 763 litres with the rear seats in place, depending on the version you choose.

Its lineage runs back through decades of Volkswagen people carriers. Road testers say that shows: it rides and steers far more like a tall estate than a converted van, and it's notably quiet on a motorway.

The common criticism is the touch-sensitive cabin controls. Volkswagen covers it with a 3-year / 100,000-mile warranty.

Why lease a Volkswagen Multivan?

Leasing suits a car like this because your monthly rental is fixed, the manufacturer warranty covers the whole of a typical contract, and you hand it back rather than worrying about what a large, specialised MPV is worth years later.

Every Multivan is automatic, with adaptive cruise control, keyless entry and start, a rear-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, active lane-change assist and autonomous emergency braking as standard. Traffic sign recognition, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights and DAB radio are fitted throughout too.

Euro NCAP awarded the Multivan 4 stars, with 87% for child occupant protection. Braked towing runs from 1,600 kg and reaches 2,000 kg on the petrol and diesel versions.

Which Multivan powertrain is right for me?

Three engines, all automatic: a 2-litre petrol, a 2-litre diesel and a plug-in hybrid. Mileage and whether you can charge at home are the two questions that decide it.

2-litre turbo petrol, 201 bhp

The quickest of the conventional engines, front-wheel drive, with 0-62 mph in 9.0 seconds and 2,000 kg braked towing. WLTP economy of 31.7 mpg means it makes most sense for lower annual mileages, or if refinement matters more than fuel bills.

2-litre diesel, 148 bhp

The long-distance choice. It's the slowest on paper at 11.6 seconds to 62 mph, but 360 Nm of pull moves a loaded Multivan easily, and WLTP economy of 42.8 to 43.5 mpg plus 2,000 kg braked towing suits motorway drivers and caravanners.

1.5-litre plug-in hybrid, 242 bhp

The only all-wheel-drive Multivan, and the most powerful, with a 25.7 kWh battery you plug in. It charges at up to 7 kW, taking 2.7 hours from empty to full on the best version. Braked towing is 1,600 kg. Our electric and hybrid leasing guides cover the charging side.

Which Multivan trim should I choose?

Two trims: Life and Style. Both seat six or seven, both are automatic, and the differences are lighting, comfort kit and wheels rather than space.

Life

Life brings 16-inch "Syrakus" alloys, cloth upholstery, a multifunction leather steering wheel with tiptronic, adaptive cruise with front assist and city emergency braking, keyless start, dynamic road sign display, electrically adjustable heated folding mirrors, LED headlights, air conditioning, front and rear parking sensors, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Panoramic glass roof, heated or massaging front seats, navigation and a digital instrument cluster are available as options. The Life is currently available from £626.93 a month.

Style

Style adds keyless advanced with keyless entry, 17-inch "Dundrod" alloys, matrix LED headlights with automatic high beam, heated front seats, a hands-free tailgate, built-in navigation, a digital instrument cluster, three-zone climate control and ambient lighting.

Ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and self-steering parking are among its options. The Style is currently available from £776.40 a month. Against the Life, that is currently £149.47/mo more expensive.

If you're torn, think about how you'll actually use it. Matrix headlights and three-zone climate earn their keep on long family runs; if yours is mostly a school-run and shopping car, Life already covers the basics. Our guide to choosing your car walks through spec and mileage decisions.

Volkswagen Multivan FAQs

Yes. It's built as a six or seven-seat MPV with individual rear seats on rails that slide, fold or come out entirely, and sliding side doors that make car parks and child seats far easier. Euro NCAP scored it 87% for child occupant protection.

With the rear seats up it ranges from 469 to 763 litres depending on the version. Fold or remove the rear seats and capacity rises to between 3,672 and 4,053 litres, so the Multivan doubles as a genuine load carrier when you need it to.

It will drive without being plugged in, but you won't see the benefit. The 25.7 kWh battery charges at up to 7 kW, taking 2.7 hours from empty to full on the best version, so it works best with a home or workplace charge point.

Yes. Braked towing is 2,000 kg on the petrol and diesel and 1,600 kg on the plug-in hybrid, with 750 kg unbraked across the range. Check the towing figure on the individual deal before you order, as it varies by version.

Volkswagen provides a 3-year / 100,000-mile warranty, with a 5-year / 100,000-mile battery warranty on the plug-in hybrid guaranteeing 70% of capacity. Servicing is every 12 months or 9,300 miles, and the car carries a tyre repair kit rather than a spare wheel.

That depends entirely on what's available at the time, and it moves as offers are refreshed. The entry Life trim is currently from £626.93 a month. Check the current Multivan deals below for today's position, or ask our team.

Easier than its size suggests. It's 1.94 m wide (2.25 m with mirrors) with a 12.1 m turning circle, and every version has a rear-view camera. Self-steering parking is available as an option on both trims, and Life includes front and rear sensors as standard.

Specifications from Volkswagen's UK data and Euro NCAP; equipment and availability vary by version, so check the individual deal before ordering.
