Leasing a Toyota Aygo X
Why choose a Toyota Aygo X
The engines for the Toyota Aygo X car lease range feature a 1.0-litre petrol engine with three cylinders producing 72 hp with torque of 93Nm. It’s a sound performer around town and a surprisingly nippy car on motorways. Emissions are 93g/km which make it an attractive proposition to company car drivers wanting a low BiK rate.
Along with a five-speed manual gearbox, Toyota also offers an automatic transmission called ‘x-shift’. It is a smooth gear changer, and the economy is slightly lower for the automatic Aygo versions. Fuel consumption for the Aygo is around 58 mpg, with economy boosted with stop and start.

What to expect when you lease a Toyota Aygo X
While there’s just one engine for the Toyota Aygo and it’s only available in five-door guise, it does offer three trim levels and lots of colour combinations.
The entry-level x-play offers LED daytime running lights, a 7.0-inch infotainment display that includes DAB radio and Bluetooth connectivity. There’s also air-conditioning, audio and phone controls mounted on the steering wheel and electric front windows. There’s also the option of an upgraded sound system in the JBL Edition.
The other trims are the ‘x-trend’ and the ‘x-clusiv’ which add fog lights and automatic headlights, alloy wheels, privacy glass and climate control. The range-topper also features part-leather seats.
There’s also a rear-view camera that some drivers will enjoy, and there’s the option of rear parking sensors.
Around town, the suspension of the Aygo delivers a supple and comfortable ride; the steering wheel gives good feedback, and this is an easy car to manoeuvre, particularly at low speeds. It’s also a cinch to park in a tight spot.
The front seats offer lots of comfort and they are easily adjustable, and the rear seats are also surprisingly spacious, though tall adults may find the roofline creates a squeeze. The boot size is a useful 168 litres and with the rear seats folded flat, this will expand to 812 litres. There are various storage spaces dotted around the cabin, including a large glove box.
The Aygo also offers a surprising amount of safety equipment including the firm’s ‘Safety Sense’ that adds an automatic emergency braking system and lane-departure warning. There’s also a pre-collision system should the vehicle detect a potential collision and it will also alert the driver to the impact. The Aygo has a four-star Euro NCAP safety rating, that’s more than some rivals, and other security features include an immobiliser.
Essentially, if you’re wanting to lease a city car that is cheap to run, offers a nice driving position and an impressive infotainment system, the contract hire Toyota Aygo is certainly worth considering.
