The Škoda Karoq is a five-seat family SUV with a 500 to 521-litre boot, petrol or diesel power and four trims from SE Edition to Sportline Edition. This page explains who it suits, which engine fits which driver, and what each trim adds.
The Škoda Karoq is a five-seat family SUV, about 4.38 metres long, built around space and everyday usefulness rather than drama. If you want a sensible, well-equipped crossover that swallows pushchairs, dogs and airport luggage without fuss, it's a strong shortlist candidate.
In Škoda's SUV line-up it sits between the smaller Kamiq and the seven-seat Kodiaq, and it's one of the few cars in this class that still offers a diesel alongside its petrols.
The choice here is simple: one body style, petrol or diesel power, and four trims - SE Edition, Design Edition, SE L Edition and Sportline Edition.

The Karoq is the current Karoq, on sale in this form since 2022. It's a conventional five-seat, five-door SUV with a boot of 500 to 521 litres depending on version, rising to as much as 1,630 litres with the rear seats folded.
Reviewers consistently describe it as comfortable, roomy and impeccably screwed together, while being honest that it's not the most exciting thing to look at or to drive. Ride comfort on poor surfaces gets praised more often than anything else.
Škoda covers it with a 3-year / 60,000-mile warranty, a 3-year paintwork guarantee and a 12-year anti-corrosion guarantee, with servicing due every 12 months or 10,000 miles.
Because every Karoq arrives generously equipped, so you're not chasing options to get a usable family car. Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, keyless entry and start, wireless phone charging, built-in navigation and a digital instrument cluster are standard across the range.
So is the safety and parking kit most families actually use day to day: a rear-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, lane-keep assist and traffic sign recognition. Dual-zone climate control, privacy glass, roof rails, rain-sensing wipers and an electric parking brake come on every version too.
Practicality is the real draw. Five seats, a 10.2-metre turning circle, roof rails rated to a 75 kg roof load, and braked towing of 1,200 to 2,100 kg depending on which version you pick. Worth knowing before you order: every Karoq carries a tyre repair kit rather than a spare wheel.
There are two: petrol or diesel. Neither needs plugging in, so charging never enters the conversation - the decision comes down to mileage, towing and whether you want all-wheel drive.
The petrol range runs from 114 to 187 bhp, with manual or automatic gearboxes and front- or all-wheel drive available. WLTP economy is 35.8 to 47.9 mpg and 0-62 mph takes 7.0 to 10.3 seconds depending on version. It suits most drivers doing average mileage.
The 2-litre diesel makes 148 bhp and 360 Nm, drives all four wheels through a 7-speed automatic, and returns 47.9 to 50.4 mpg. It's the towing choice at 2,100 kg braked, and the one to look at if you cover long motorway miles regularly.

Four trims, and the jump between them is mostly about wheels, cabin trim and driver assistance rather than engines.
