View dealThe Škoda Elroq is a five-seat, all-electric SUV measuring 4.49 m long, sitting below the larger Enyaq in Škoda's electric line-up. It's aimed squarely at families who want one car that does school runs, commutes and the occasional long motorway haul without fuss.
The choice here is simple. One body style, one electric powertrain offered in several outputs from 187 to 335 bhp, and four trims: SE L, Edition, Sportline and the performance vRS.
Reviewers consistently describe it as one of the most complete electric family SUVs on sale - roomy, comfortable and easy to live with.

The Elroq is Škoda's compact electric SUV: five seats, five doors, a 470-litre boot with the rear seats up and 1,580 litres folded. It's the car that brought Škoda's newer, blockier design language to the range, with a blanked-off panel in place of a grille.
Road testers praise the space, the build quality and the ride, and note the small practical touches Škoda is known for. The common criticism is that it's not exciting to drive - competent rather than playful, even in vRS form.
It carries a 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty, with the battery covered separately for 8 years / 100,000 miles and guaranteed to hold at least 70% of its capacity in that time.
Because the standard kit list is genuinely strong and the running costs suit a fixed monthly budget. Every Elroq gets adaptive cruise control, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, built-in navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a rear-view camera and front and rear parking sensors.
Safety is well covered too. Blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist and traffic sign recognition are standard across the range, and the Elroq holds a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, scoring 90% for adult occupant protection and 87% for child occupants.
On the practical side, roof rails are standard, the roof will take 75 kg, and braked towing runs from 1,000 kg up to 1,800 kg depending on the version - worth checking against your caravan or trailer before you order. If you're new to electric cars, our electric car guide covers the basics.
There's only one: the Elroq is electric only, with no petrol, diesel or hybrid option. What varies is battery size, power and how many driven wheels you get.
Battery capacity runs from 61 kWh to 84 kWh, power from 187 bhp to 335 bhp, and WLTP range from 265 miles to 370 miles depending on the version. Every Elroq is automatic, with rear-wheel drive on most versions and all-wheel drive on the vRS.
You'll need to charge it, so a home wallbox makes life far easier - the best version takes 6.5 hours from empty to full at 11 kW. On a rapid charger, the quickest version manages 10-80% in 26 minutes at 185 kW. Our guide to charging an electric car explains the rest.

Four to pick from, and even the entry car is well equipped, so this is mostly about wheels, styling and convenience kit rather than filling gaps.
The starting point, from 201 bhp with rear-wheel drive, on 19-inch "Proteus" alloys with artificial leather upholstery. LED headlights with automatic high beam, satellite navigation, heated front seats, a rear-view camera, front parking sensors and dual-zone climate control are all included. A heat pump, heated rear seats and a retractable towbar are available as options.
The SE L is currently available from £281.26 a month.
Edition keeps the 201 bhp rear-drive starting point but switches to 19-inch "Regulus" alloys and adds keyless entry and start with walk-away locking, wireless phone charging, and privacy glass with acoustic side windows for a quieter cabin. The same heat pump, heated rear seats and retractable towbar options carry over.
The Edition is currently available from £287.30 a month. Against the SE L, that is currently £6.05/mo more expensive.
Sportline is the sharper-looking one, from 201 bhp with rear-wheel drive, on 20-inch "Vega" alloys. It adds matrix LED headlights, a hands-free tailgate, climate control, sports suspension, front sports seats and front fog lights. Adaptive suspension is optional.
The Sportline is currently available from £306.16 a month. Against the Edition, that is currently £18.85/mo more expensive.
Then there's the performance Elroq.
The vRS is the quick one: 335 bhp, all-wheel drive, 0-62 mph in 5.4 seconds and 20-inch "Draconis" alloys. It also brings a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, massaging front seats with electric adjustment and memory for the driver, adaptive suspension and paddle shifters. Testers call it fast and secure rather than thrilling.
The vRS is currently available from £405.23 a month. Against the Sportline, that is currently £99.07/mo more expensive.
Optional packs are offered on top of the trims - Lodge, Suite, Plus, Advanced and Maxx packs, and various combinations of them - so check the specific pack listed on the deal you're looking at. You'll find the rest of the range on our Škoda leasing page.
If you're cross-shopping electric family SUVs, it's worth a look at the Leapmotor C10, the BYD Sealion 7, the OMODA 5 and the Volkswagen ID.4.
