View dealThe Peugeot 208 is a five-door supermini hatchback, and it's the smallest and most affordable car Peugeot sells in the UK. It's aimed squarely at drivers who want something compact and easy to park, but who still care quite a lot about how a car looks and feels.
The current 208 has been on sale in this form since 2023, and it comes as a hatchback only. You choose between a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine and a fully electric version, then pick from Style, Allure, Envy, GT and GT Premium, with the electric GTi sitting apart as the performance model.
If you're weighing up the wider range first, our Peugeot lease deals page covers the rest of the line-up.

The 208 is a small hatchback that leans on design and cabin quality rather than outright space. Reviewers consistently praise the interior for looking and feeling more expensive than the price suggests, and they consistently note two caveats: rear legroom is tight, and the low-set small steering wheel of Peugeot's i-Cockpit layout doesn't suit every driver.
Five seats, a boot of 342 to 387 litres depending on which version you choose, and a body about 4.06 m long make it a genuine city car that can still do motorway miles comfortably. Ride comfort is a common compliment in road tests.
Every 208 comes with a three-year, 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty, and the electric versions add an eight-year, 100,000-mile battery warranty guaranteeing 70% of capacity.
Because the 208 is well equipped from the entry trim upwards, so you don't have to climb the range to get the kit most people actually use. Every version has a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, DAB digital radio, voice control, LED headlights and automatic headlights.
Safety and driver assistance are covered too: lane-keep assist, rear parking sensors and rain-sensing wipers are standard across the range, and Style adds an advanced driver attention monitoring system with a driver vigilance camera.
Practically, it's a five-seat, five-door hatchback with a 44-litre fuel tank on the petrol cars and up to 1,163 litres of load space with the rear seats folded. Braked towing is up to 1,200 kg, and a retractable towbar is a factory option on several trims.
Servicing falls every 12 to 24 months or 16,000 miles, which is worth knowing when you're deciding whether to add maintenance to your agreement. Our team can talk that through before you order.
Two choices: a 1.2-litre turbo petrol if you'd rather fill up at a pump, or the electric 208 if you can charge at home or at work. Both drive the front wheels.
A 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo with 100 to 145 bhp, manual or automatic. WLTP economy runs from 47.7 to 65.7 mpg depending on version, 0-62 mph takes 8.1 to 10.1 seconds, and the boot is 387 litres with the seats up. The sensible pick if charging isn't practical where you live.
A 50 to 54 kWh battery, 134 to 277 bhp and an automatic drive, with WLTP range from 217 miles up to 268 miles on the best version. Charging peaks at 100 kW, giving 20-80% in 27 minutes on the best version, or 3.2 hours at 11 kW at home. Boot space is 342 litres.
