View dealThe MINI Aceman is a five-door electric hatchback that gives you MINI's looks and MINI's handling with a pair of rear doors added. At 4.08 metres long it's a genuinely small car, built for towns, commutes and short-hop family life rather than long motorway hauls.
It fills the gap in MINI's line-up between the three-door Cooper and the much larger Countryman, and it's electric only - there's no petrol Aceman.
The choice is simple enough: one body style, one electric powertrain family split into 181bhp E and 215bhp SE versions plus a 255bhp John Cooper Works, and nine trims from E Classic up to John Cooper Works.

The Aceman is a small five-seat electric hatchback with a 300-litre boot, front-wheel drive and WLTP range of up to 251 miles on the longest-legged version. MINI covers it with a three-year, unlimited-mileage warranty and an eight-year, 100,000-mile battery warranty.
Reviewers consistently praise the cabin and the way it drives - alert, quick-witted and genuinely entertaining for a small crossover.
The consistent criticism is ride comfort. Every modern MINI rides firmly and the Aceman is no exception, and road testers also point out that rear legroom and boot space trail some rivals. Fold the rear seats and you get 1,005 litres.
Because you get a distinctive, well-equipped electric car in a footprint that suits British streets. Every Aceman has built-in navigation, LED headlights, a rear-view camera, air conditioning, ambient lighting, roof rails, DAB radio, rain-sensing wipers and an electric parking brake.
Safety is strong: five stars from Euro NCAP, with 83% for adult occupant protection, 87% for child occupant protection, 77% for vulnerable road users and 79% for safety assist. Autonomous emergency braking is standard across the range.
Practically, it's 1.75m wide with an 11.1m turning circle, so parking is easy, and servicing is every 24 months. New to electric? Our electric car guide covers the basics before you commit to a contract.
There's one powertrain here - electric - offered across a range of battery capacities and three power outputs. No petrol, no hybrid, so you'll need somewhere reliable to charge.
Batteries run from 42.5kWh to 54.2kWh, power from 181bhp to 255bhp, and WLTP range from 188 to 251 miles. It's automatic and front-wheel drive. Rapid charging covers 10-80% in 31 minutes at 95kW on the best version, and a full 11kW AC charge takes 4.3 hours on that same best version.

Nine trims, and the differences come down to power, wheels, upholstery and convenience kit rather than anything mechanical beyond the motor.
The 181bhp starting point, on 17-inch X Spoke alloy wheels with artificial leather upholstery. It already includes LED headlights, MINI's navigation system, a heated steering wheel, the driver camera system, self-steering parking assistant and rear parking sensors.
The E Classic is currently available from £325.42 a month.
Same 181bhp motor, but it moves to 18-inch Night Flash Spoke alloys and cloth upholstery, and adds heated front seats, wireless phone charging and a head-up display. A sensible pick if you want the winter-comfort kit without changing the seat material.
The E Monochrome is currently available from £324.22 a month. Against the E Classic, that is currently £1.20/mo cheaper. Best value
Takes the E Monochrome and swaps in Vescin synthetic leather upholstery, front sports seats and a heated steering wheel. Still the 181bhp motor on 18-inch Night Flash Spoke wheels - this is the more polished, design-led take on the entry Aceman.
The E Exclusive is currently available from £349.76 a month. Against the E Monochrome, that is currently £25.55/mo more expensive.
The step up to the 215bhp SE. It runs 18-inch Night Flash Spoke alloys and cloth upholstery, with a head-up display, heated front seats and wireless charging included.
The SE Monochrome is currently available from £342.72 a month. Against the E Exclusive, that is currently £7.04/mo cheaper. Best value
Also 215bhp, but on smaller 17-inch X Spoke wheels with artificial leather upholstery. It adds a heated steering wheel, keyless entry and start, automatic parking assist, automatic high beam, power-folding mirrors and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror.
The SE Classic is currently available from £344.54 a month. Against the SE Monochrome, that is currently £1.82/mo more expensive.
Back to the 181bhp motor, but with the sharper look: 18-inch JCW Slide Spoke alloys, artificial leather trim and front sports seats. LED headlights are standard here as they are everywhere in the range.
The E Sport is currently available from £365.88 a month. Against the SE Classic, that is currently £21.34/mo more expensive.
The 215bhp motor with Vescin synthetic leather upholstery and 18-inch Night Flash Spoke wheels. It's the best-equipped of the non-performance trims, bundling the head-up display, heated front seats, keyless entry and start, wireless charging, automatic parking assist, automatic high beam, power-folding mirrors and an auto-dimming mirror.
The SE Exclusive is currently available from £369.10 a month. Against the E Sport, that is currently £3.22/mo more expensive.
An SE on 18-inch JCW Slide Spoke alloys with artificial leather upholstery. It's about the way the car looks rather than extra equipment, so choose it if the sportier styling treatment is what you're after.
The SE Sport is currently available from £383.50 a month. Against the SE Exclusive, that is currently £14.40/mo more expensive.
The 255bhp performance Aceman, on 19-inch JCW Strive Spoke alloys with artificial leather upholstery and a Harman Kardon sound system. It's the quickest of the range at 6.4 seconds to 62mph, and the firmest-riding - worth a test drive before you sign.
The John Cooper Works is currently available from £401.32 a month. Against the SE Sport, that is currently £17.82/mo more expensive.
