Mercedes-Benz CLE Convertible Lease Deals

The Mercedes-Benz CLE Convertible is a four-seat, two-door drop-top built for relaxed open-air miles rather than track heroics. At about 4.87 m long with a 375-385 litre boot depending on version, it's a convertible you can genuinely use as your only car.

In Mercedes-Benz's line-up it sits as the brand's mainstream open-top, sold alongside the CLE Coupe. Reviewers consistently describe it as a comfort-first cruiser: refined, classy inside, and unusually civilised with the roof down.

The choice is simple enough. Petrol or diesel, rear- or all-wheel drive, and three specifications: AMG Line, Premier Edition and the performance AMG.

About the Mercedes-Benz CLE Convertible

The CLE Convertible is the current CLE range's open-top body, on sale in this form since 2024. It seats four, carries 375-385 litres of luggage depending on version, and comes with a 3-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty.

It carries E-Class-style calm with C-Class-style interior technology. Road testers repeatedly praise the refinement with the roof stowed - wind management is good enough that conversation at motorway speeds isn't a shouting match.

The criticisms are consistent too. It's a heavy car, the four-cylinder engines work harder than the six, and it enables brisk driving rather than encouraging it. Braked towing is rated at 1,800 kg, which is unusual for a drop-top.

CLE Convertible or CLE Coupe?

Both are four-seat, two-door cars of the same 4.87 m length, and both tow up to 1,800 kg braked. The Convertible's advantage is the fabric roof; the Coupe's is a bigger maximum boot and, generally, a lighter kerb weight.

The CLE Coupe holds 290-420 litres with the rear seats up, so its best versions carry more than the Convertible's 375-385 litres, though its poorest carry less. Coupe kerb weights run 1,795-2,175 kg against 1,930-2,110 kg here.

Why lease a Mercedes-Benz CLE Convertible?

Because the standard kit list is deep and the safety score is strong. Every CLE Convertible has heated front sports seats, keyless entry and start, wireless phone charging, built-in navigation, a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and climate control.

Driver assistance is standard across the range too: autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beam, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera and self-steering parking. The CLE holds a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, scoring 93% for adult occupant protection and 83% for safety assist.

Practically, you get four seats, 375-385 litres of boot space depending on version, a 65-66 litre fuel tank and braked towing up to 1,800 kg. Note the spare is a tyre repair kit, not a wheel.

Which CLE Convertible powertrain is right for me?

Two choices, petrol or diesel, both automatic and neither needing a plug. Petrol suits shorter, sunnier journeys; diesel suits high-mileage drivers who want economy.

Petrol

Petrol power runs from 201 to 443 bhp, with 2.0-litre four-cylinder and 3.0-litre six-cylinder engines, a 9-speed automatic and rear- or all-wheel drive. Economy is 29.4-41.5 mpg with CO2 of 154-219 g/km, and 0-62 mph takes 4.4-7.9 seconds.

Diesel

The diesel is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 194 bhp, 440 Nm, rear-wheel drive and the same 9-speed automatic. It claims 56.5-57.7 mpg and 129-130 g/km, does 0-62 mph in 7.9 seconds, and makes most sense over long motorway runs. Our petrol or diesel guide walks through the trade-off.

Which CLE Convertible trim should I choose?

AMG Line

The entry specification, starting at 201 bhp with rear-wheel drive. It rides on 18-inch AMG 5 Twin Spoke alloys with leather upholstery, sports suspension, automatic parking assist, a reversing camera, heated front seats, and ARTICO man-made leather on the instrument panel and beltlines.

Premier Edition

Premier Edition also starts at 201 bhp, rear-wheel drive, and adds 20-inch AMG Multi Spoke alloys in high-sheen black, Nappa leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, massaging and ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree camera with augmented-reality navigation. Adaptive cruise control and active lane-change assist are available as options.

AMG

Then there's the performance version. The AMG puts out 443 bhp through all-wheel drive, on 20-inch AMG Y Spoke alloys, with adaptive suspension, four-wheel steering, a powered tailgate, four-way lumbar support, SPEEDTRONIC cruise control with variable speed limiter, and ARTICO leather across the dashboard with contrast stitching.
