View dealThe Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is the smallest and most road-focused Range Rover: a five-seat, five-door SUV measuring 4.37 metres long, built for people who want the look and the cabin quality of a Range Rover in something that still fits a tight car park.
It sits below the larger Range Rover models in Land Rover's line-up, and it's the badge most people reach for when a full-size 4x4 is simply too much car for the school run and the commute.
The choice is straightforward. One body style, three powertrains - petrol, diesel or plug-in hybrid - and five trims: Dynamic S, Hoxton Edition, Hoxton Edition Black, Edition and Autobiography.

The current Range Rover Evoque is the second-generation car, on sale in this form since 2023. It's a compact premium SUV that trades on design and interior quality rather than outright space.
Reviewers consistently praise the ride comfort, the hushed motorway manners and a cabin that holds its own against anything in the class. The same testers are just as consistent about the compromises: rear headroom suffers under that sloping roofline, and the boot, at 472 litres with the rear seats up, is competitive rather than class-leading.
It seats five, carries a three-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty, and - unusually for a style-led SUV - it can genuinely tow, with braked towing up to 2,000 kg on the diesel.
Because every Evoque arrives well equipped, which matters more on a lease than it does on a used purchase: you're specifying a car once, for a fixed term, and you can't retro-fit kit later. The standard list is unusually full.
Adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, keyless entry and start, wireless phone charging, built-in navigation, a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are fitted to every version and trim.
So is the safety kit: autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist and traffic sign recognition across the range. Practically, you get 1,156 litres with the rear seats folded, an 11.6-metre turning circle and a tyre repair kit rather than a spare.
Three choices: a front-wheel-drive petrol, an all-wheel-drive diesel, or an all-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid. All are automatic, and your decision mostly comes down to mileage, towing and whether you can charge at home.
The 1.5-litre turbo petrol produces 158 bhp through an eight-speed automatic and drives the front wheels only. It'll reach 62 mph in 9.7 seconds and returns 35.2-35.4 mpg on the WLTP test. Fine for lower-mileage town and suburban use; it's the thirstiest option on a long motorway run.
The 2-litre diesel offers 161-201 bhp, a nine-speed automatic and all-wheel drive as standard. WLTP economy of 41.0-44.6 mpg and up to 430 Nm of torque make it the one for high annual mileage, and it's the only powertrain rated to tow 2,000 kg braked.
The plug-in pairs a 1.5-litre turbo with a 15 kWh battery for 265 bhp, all-wheel drive and 0-62 mph in 6.8 seconds - the quickest Evoque. It needs charging to make sense: 0-100% takes 2.2 hours at 7 kW on the best version, or 0-80% in 25 minutes at 50 kW. Our electric and hybrid leasing guides cover how that works day to day.

Five trims, and the split is simple: Dynamic S, Hoxton Edition and Hoxton Edition Black can be had with petrol or plug-in hybrid power, while Edition and Autobiography start with the 201 bhp diesel and all-wheel drive, with plug-in hybrid also available.
The entry trim is far from basic: LED headlights with signature daytime running lights and LED tail lights, Android Auto, a heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise control and a 3D 360-degree surround camera with wade sensing. It rides on 19-inch Style 5136 alloys with leather upholstery, and a head-up display, powered tailgate and privacy glass are available as options. The Dynamic S is currently available from £738.48 a month.
Over the Dynamic S this adds grained leather upholstery, a powered tailgate and a head-up display, plus 20-inch Style 5089 alloys, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beam and ambient lighting. An opening panoramic roof and heated rear seats remain options. The Hoxton Edition is currently available from £730.06 a month. Against the Dynamic S, that is currently £8.42/mo cheaper. Best value
This is a darker-looking take on the Hoxton Edition rather than a big equipment step - it adds privacy glass, along with a fixed panoramic glass roof, on the same 20-inch Style 5089 wheels. Heated rear seats and an opening panoramic roof stay on the options list. The Hoxton Edition Black is currently available from £786.36 a month. Against the Hoxton Edition, that is currently £56.30/mo more expensive.
The first of the diesel trims, starting at 201 bhp with all-wheel drive. Against the Dynamic S it brings 19-inch gloss black alloys, a fixed panoramic sunroof with powered sunblind, grained leather, a Meridian sound system with 400W subwoofer and 11 speakers, a powered tailgate, blind-spot monitoring and privacy glass. The Edition is currently available from £730.48 a month.
The fully loaded one. Over the Edition it adds Pixel LED headlights, a sliding panoramic roof with powered sunblind, extended Windsor leather, a Meridian surround sound system with 650W subwoofer and 14 speakers, and a head-up display, on 21-inch Style 5137 alloys with adaptive suspension. Ventilated front seats and a retractable towbar are options. The Autobiography is currently available from £770.51 a month. Against the Edition, that is currently £40.03/mo more expensive.
If you're weighing the Evoque against the rest of the class, the Volvo XC60, Porsche Macan, Mercedes-Benz GLB and Audi Q3 are the usual shortlist, and you can see the wider Land Rover range too.
