Hyundai Ioniq 9 Lease Deals

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 is Hyundai's largest electric SUV, offering six or seven seats, a 110.3 kWh battery and up to 385 miles of WLTP range. This page explains the powertrain, the Premium, Ultimate, Calligraphy and Calligraphy Black Ink trims, and how to choose between them.

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 is a large electric SUV with six or seven seats, built for families who cover long distances and want a third row that adults can actually use. It sits at the top of Hyundai's range as the brand's electric flagship.

It suits households running one big car for everything: school runs, airport trips, caravan weekends. At 5.06 metres long it needs a proper parking space, and it's a car that rewards steady driving rather than hurried driving.

The choice is simple. One body style, one battery and one drivetrain family, with four trims: Premium, Ultimate, Calligraphy and the 421 bhp Calligraphy Black Ink.

About the Hyundai Ioniq 9

The Ioniq 9 is a six or seven-seat SUV designed around long-distance comfort rather than sharp handling. Reviewers consistently praise the space, the quiet motorway manners and the sheer usability of the cabin.

The numbers back that up: a 110.3 kWh battery, WLTP range of up to 385 miles, and a 338-litre boot behind the third row, which is unusually generous for a seven-seater. Fold everything flat and there's 2,419 litres.

Road testers are less enthusiastic about real-world efficiency and about the ride on the largest wheels, and nobody calls it agile. Every version carries a five-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty.

Why lease a Hyundai Ioniq 9?

Because the equipment you'd normally pay extra for is already standard, and leasing keeps you in a fast-moving part of the EV market without owning the car at the end. Every Ioniq 9 is generously kitted out.

Across the range you get adaptive cruise control, heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, three-zone climate control, a heat pump, wireless phone charging, built-in navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry and start, a powered tailgate, roof rails and privacy glass.

Safety is comprehensive too: autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, active lane-change assist, front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera. Euro NCAP awarded five stars, with 84% for adult occupant protection and 87% for child occupant protection.

Which Ioniq 9 powertrain is right for me?

There's only one: a fully electric drivetrain with a 110.3 kWh battery, automatic transmission, and a choice of rear-wheel or all-wheel drive depending on the version you pick.

Electric

Power runs from 215 bhp to 421 bhp, with up to 385 miles of WLTP range and torque of 350 to 700 Nm. It needs charging, so you'll want a home charger; at 11 kW the best version takes 10 hours from 10-100%. On a 350 kW rapid charger, 10-80% takes 24 minutes.

Which Ioniq 9 trim should I choose?

Pick on wheel size, seat comfort and how much driver-assistance tech you want, because the battery is the same throughout.

Premium

The entry trim starts with 215 bhp and rear-wheel drive, 19-inch alloy wheels, small cube projection LED headlights, cloth and leather upholstery, a four-spoke leather steering wheel, Bluelink with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 12.3-inch panoramic driver's display. Those smaller wheels suit British roads well.

The Premium is currently available from £603.73 a month.

Ultimate

Ultimate moves to 20-inch gloss black alloys, leather upholstery, an opening panoramic glass sunroof, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation and intelligent front lighting. It also adds a head-up display, 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, electric seat memory, self-steering parking, rear cross-traffic alert and ambient lighting.

The Ultimate is currently available from £674.12 a month. Against the Premium, that is currently £70.39/mo more expensive.

Calligraphy

Calligraphy is mostly about appearance rather than extra equipment: 21-inch gloss black alloys and a four-spoke two-tone leather steering wheel over the Ultimate. It starts as an all-wheel-drive version, which is worth knowing if you tow or park on a slope.

The Calligraphy is currently available from £694.86 a month. Against the Ultimate, that is currently £20.74/mo more expensive.

Calligraphy Black Ink

Then there's the performance version. Black Ink pairs 421 bhp and all-wheel drive with 21-inch black painted alloys and a black pure leather steering wheel, covering 0-62 mph in 5.2 seconds. It's brisk rather than sporting - the character is still relaxed, just with far more in reserve.

The Calligraphy Black Ink is currently available from £720.78 a month. Against the Calligraphy, that is currently £25.92/mo more expensive.

Hyundai Ioniq 9 FAQs

Yes. It seats six or seven, has heated rear seats and three-zone climate control as standard, and reviewers regularly single out the third row as genuinely usable by adults. Euro NCAP gave it five stars, with 87% for child occupant protection.

There's 338 litres behind the third row, which is about the size of a supermini's boot and more than most seven-seaters manage with every seat in use. Fold the rear seats down and capacity rises to 2,419 litres.

WLTP range is 372 to 385 miles depending on the version, from a 110.3 kWh battery. The best version charges 10-80% in 24 minutes on a 350 kW rapid charger, or 10-100% in 10 hours at 11 kW at home. Our guide to charging an electric car covers the practicalities.

Yes. Braked towing capacity is 1,600 to 2,500 kg depending on the version, with 750 kg unbraked. Expect range to fall sharply with a caravan or trailer behind you. Check the towing figure on the specific version before you order, as it isn't the same across the range.

Hyundai covers the car for five years with unlimited mileage, which comfortably outlasts a typical lease term. The battery has its own eight-year or 100,000-mile warranty, guaranteeing at least 70% of its original capacity.

It depends entirely on what's available at the time, and it changes as pricing is refreshed. The entry Premium trim is currently from £603.73 a month. Compare the live offers in the deals below, or ask our team to check.

Three things: whether your parking space takes a 5.06-metre car, whether you want six or seven seats, and your wheel size, since the ride on 21-inch wheels is firmer than on 19s. Insurance groups run from 42 to 50, so get a quote early. Our guide to choosing your car helps with mileage and term.
