The Chery Tiggo 4 is a compact five-seat hybrid SUV with a 430-litre boot, a 201bhp self-charging hybrid powertrain and a seven-year, 100,000-mile manufacturer warranty. This page explains what the car is like, what comes as standard, and how the Aspire and Summit trims differ.
The Chery Tiggo 4 is a five-seat compact SUV with a self-charging hybrid engine. At 4.32 metres long with a 430-litre boot, it's aimed at drivers who want family-sized practicality without a large car on the driveway.
It suits people who do most of their miles around town and on local roads, and who don't want the bother of plugging anything in. Every version comes with a seven-year, 100,000-mile manufacturer warranty, which comfortably outlasts a typical lease term.
The choice is simple: one body style, one hybrid powertrain, and two trims - Aspire and Summit. That's the whole range, so picking your Tiggo 4 really comes down to how much kit you want.

The Tiggo 4 is Chery's entry point in the UK, sitting below the brand's larger Tiggo models. It's a conventional, upright compact SUV built around value: lots of standard equipment, a hybrid drivetrain and a long warranty in a 4.32-metre package.
Reviewers consistently praise the interior for looking and feeling better than the price suggests, with soft-touch materials and twin digital displays. They're less keen on the driving experience - light, uncommunicative steering and a powertrain that gets vocal when pushed hard.
Where it does convince is at lower speeds, where road testers find the hybrid system smooth and quiet. With five seats, a 430-litre boot rising to 1,155 litres with the rear seats folded, and 53.2mpg on the official WLTP test, it makes sense as a straightforward family runabout.
Because the standard specification is unusually complete for a compact SUV, and because leasing puts you in a brand-new one with the manufacturer warranty running throughout. Every Tiggo 4 has the safety and convenience kit that rivals often charge extra for.
Across the range you get adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a rear-view camera and rear parking sensors. Keyless entry and start, a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, DAB radio and rain-sensing wipers are standard too.
Euro NCAP awarded the Tiggo 4 four stars, with 79% for adult occupant protection, 85% for child occupants, 78% for vulnerable road users and 80% for safety assist. Servicing falls due every 12 months or 10,000 miles, which is worth factoring in if you're considering a maintenance package.
There's only one, so this part is easy. The Tiggo 4 is sold exclusively as a self-charging hybrid with an automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive, which means no cables, no charging schedule and no home wallbox to think about.
A 1.5-litre petrol engine works with an electric motor and a small 1.8 kWh battery that tops itself up as you drive. Combined output is 201bhp with 310Nm of torque, 0-62mph takes 8.9 seconds and the official figures are 53.2mpg and 120g/km of CO2.
In practice the hybrid system combines the engine and electric motor smoothly, which is why testers rate it best in town. The single-speed automatic keeps things simple, and there's a 51-litre fuel tank for longer runs. If you're weighing up fuel types, our electric and hybrid leasing guides explain how self-charging hybrids differ from plug-ins.
| Hybrid | |

| Boot | 430 litres |
| Power | 201 bhp |
| Seats | 5 |
| Battery | 1.8 kWh |
| 0–62 mph | 8.9 s |
| Economy (WLTP) | 53.2 mpg |
Two trims, Aspire and Summit, both with the same 201bhp hybrid engine, front-wheel drive and 17-inch alloy wheels. The difference is comfort and convenience kit, not performance.
The entry trim, and far from basic. It brings 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, cloth upholstery, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a rear-view camera and adaptive cruise control, alongside the safety kit fitted to every Tiggo 4.
The Aspire is currently available from £271.75 a month.
Summit adds leatherette upholstery, a heated steering wheel, an electrically adjustable driver's seat, a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, a wireless charging pad, privacy glass for the rear window and power-folding door mirrors. The 360-degree camera is the one most customers notice on tight driveways.
The Summit is currently available from £244.45 a month. Against the Aspire, that is currently £27.30/mo cheaper. Best value
