Audi A3 Saloon Lease Deals

The Audi A3 Saloon is Audi's smallest four-door saloon, offering a boot of up to 425 litres, five seats and a choice of petrol or diesel power. This page explains the trims, powertrains and how the Saloon compares with the A3 Hatchback before you pick a lease deal.

The Audi A3 Saloon is the four-door, three-box version of Audi's smallest family car, and it sits at the entry point of the brand's saloon line-up. Five seats, four doors, a boot of 325 to 425 litres depending on version, and roughly 4.50 m of length to park.

It suits drivers who want a compact premium car with a proper separate boot rather than a hatchback tailgate: commuters, company car drivers and small families who rarely carry bulky loads. Reviewers consistently describe it as quiet, tidy to drive and solidly built, if sensible rather than thrilling.

The choice here is straightforward. One body, petrol from 114 bhp up to 328 bhp or a 148 bhp diesel, and trims running Technik, Sport, S Line and Black Edition, plus two performance S3 versions.

About the Audi A3 Saloon

This is the current, fourth-generation A3 Saloon, on sale in this form since 2026. It carries a 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty and a 5-star Euro NCAP rating.

Road testers tend to land in the same place on it: composed on the motorway, grippy and predictable through corners, and let down slightly by a firm edge to the ride on the bigger wheels. The cabin draws consistent praise for build quality and its digital instrument display, with a few grumbles about how busy the screen menus feel.

Practicality is better than the low roofline suggests. The boot runs from 325 litres up to 425 litres with the rear seats up depending on version, and braked towing reaches 1,600 kg on the diesel.

A3 Saloon or A3 Hatchback?

The Saloon is the longer, more formal-looking A3 with the bigger boot; the Hatchback is the easier one to load. At 4.50 to 4.51 m the Saloon is around 15 cm longer, and its 325 to 425 litre boot beats the Hatchback's 280 to 380 litres with the seats up.

The trade-off is access and flexibility. The A3 Hatchback has five doors and folds down to 1,100 to 1,200 litres, so bikes, flat-packs and dog crates are far simpler. Both seat five and both share an 11.1 m turning circle. To see every version together, use the full Audi A3 range.

Why lease an Audi A3 Saloon?

Because the standard kit list is generous across the board and the safety scores are strong, so you don't need to chase expensive trims to get a well-equipped car. Every version and trim gets adaptive cruise control, a digital instrument cluster and wireless phone charging.

Also standard everywhere: Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a rear-view camera, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beam, autonomous emergency braking, three-zone climate control, DAB digital radio, voice control and rain-sensing wipers.

Euro NCAP awarded five stars, with 86% for adult occupant protection, 81% for child occupant, 76% for vulnerable road users and 74% for safety assist. Worth knowing before you order: there's no spare wheel, just a tyre repair kit.

Which A3 Saloon powertrain is right for me?

Two choices, neither of which plugs in: petrol or diesel. Mileage is the deciding factor, and if you're weighing the two up our petrol, diesel or electric guide is a useful read.

Petrol

Power spans 114 to 328 bhp from 1.5 and 2.0-litre engines, with manual or automatic gearboxes and front- or all-wheel drive. WLTP economy runs from 34.9 to 55.4 mpg and CO2 from 116 g/km. Best for lower-mileage drivers and anyone wanting the quicker versions.

Diesel

One option: a 2.0-litre with 148 bhp, 360 Nm of torque, a 7-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. WLTP economy of 55.4 to 58.9 mpg and 8.1 seconds to 62 mph. It's the motorway mile-eater, and the only A3 Saloon rated to tow 1,600 kg braked.

Which A3 Saloon trim should I choose?

Four everyday trims and two performance versions, and the differences are mostly wheels, seats, lighting and screens rather than safety kit.

Technik

The entry version, 114 bhp and front-wheel drive, on 17-inch 5 Arm Style alloys with cloth upholstery. You get LED headlights with halogen rear lights, power-folding mirrors, camera-based traffic sign recognition and a leather multifunction steering wheel. A fixed panoramic glass roof and a fixed towbar are available as options.

Sport

Sport swaps in 17-inch 5-v-spoke alloys and adds MMI Navigation Plus with a 10.1-inch colour touchscreen, heated front seats and front sports seats. Cloth upholstery again, and the same panoramic roof and towbar options. A sensible middle ground if heated seats matter on winter mornings.

S Line

S Line moves up to 18-inch 5-twin-spoke alloys and leather upholstery with front sports seats carrying an S embossed logo. It also brings LED headlights with LED rear lights pro, privacy glass, ambient lighting, an LED third brake light and sports suspension, which does firm the ride up.

Black Edition

Black Edition is about appearance rather than extra equipment, building on S Line with 19-inch 5-arm-y Structure alloys and leather upholstery. Its entry version is the 148 bhp car with front-wheel drive. Panoramic roof, fixed towbar and sports seats remain options.

Then come the performance versions, both 328 bhp petrol with all-wheel drive.

S3 Black Edition

The quick one: 328 bhp, 4.7 seconds to 62 mph and a 155 mph top speed. It adds a three-spoke flat-bottomed sport steering wheel with gear shift paddles, an extended ambient lighting package Pro, a head-up display, matrix LED headlights and sports seats, on 19-inch 5 Twin Spoke alloys.

S3 Vorsprung

Same 328 bhp powertrain, more equipment. Vorsprung adds a panoramic roof, 3D and 360 degree surround view cameras, park assist pro with remote functionality, adaptive cruise assist plus, front and rear parking sensors and lane-keep assist, on Multi Spoke 19-inch alloys.

Similar cars to consider

If you're cross-shopping compact premium four-doors, the obvious alternative is the BMW 2 Series. It covers much the same ground on size and badge appeal, and reviewers generally rate it the sharper car to drive. You can also browse the wider Audi leasing range.

Audi A3 Saloon FAQs

Between 325 and 425 litres with the rear seats up, depending on version. Diesel versions are quoted at 425 litres. Remember it's a saloon opening rather than a hatchback tailgate, so tall or awkward items are harder to load than the capacity figure suggests.

For a family of four it works well. There are five seats, Euro NCAP gave it five stars with 81% for child occupant protection, and every version has autonomous emergency braking and a rear-view camera. The sloping roofline does eat into rear headroom, so check fit with child seats.

Yes, up to 1,600 kg braked on the diesel, with petrol versions rated at 1,300 to 1,500 kg braked. Unbraked figures run from 680 to 740 kg. A fixed towbar is a factory option on Technik, Sport, S Line and Black Edition, so it needs specifying at order.

A 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty, alongside a 3-year paintwork guarantee and a 12-year anti-corrosion guarantee. On a typical lease term that covers most or all of your time with the car, but check the term and mileage you choose against the 60,000-mile limit.

No. The Saloon is offered with petrol or diesel engines only, so there's nothing to charge. Petrol CO2 runs from 116 g/km and diesel from 125 g/km, which is worth checking against your company car tax position before you order.

It depends entirely on what's available at the time. Trim, engine, term, mileage and initial rental all move the monthly figure, and the ordering isn't always what you'd expect from list prices. The live A3 Saloon deals below this page are Saloon-only, and our guide to choosing your car covers how term and mileage affect the rental.

Specifications from Audi's UK data and Euro NCAP; equipment and availability vary by version, so check the individual deal before ordering.
