Overview of the Volkswagen ID.4

Great electric range with a minimalist look - Spacious and well-equipped

The Volkswagen ID.4 is not only a great looking SUV to lease, but it has great range too. There's also plenty of equipment and it's a spacious offering.

ENGINES AND PERFORMANCE FOR THE VOLKSWAGEN ID.4

The contract hire Volkswagen ID.4 uses an electric motor producing 201 bhp.
This delivers a 0 to 62 mph sprint time of 8.5 seconds - that's not the quickest from a standing start among its rivals, but the power is applied more smoothly for a rewarding drive.

The top speed is restricted to 99 mph, and it's a relaxed motorway cruiser.
Other ID.4 models feature motors producing either 150 bhp or 168 bhp and VW says that versions with dual motors and all-wheel drive are in the pipeline.

The battery-powered range is 310 miles, with a fast charger able to recharge the battery to 80% of its capacity in 40 minutes.

Also, as a zero-emissions vehicle, it will be hugely attractive to company car drivers. Despite the size and weight, the ID.4 is a surprisingly agile car to drive - and has the potential to offer fun behind the wheel.

EQUIPMENT AND HANDLING FOR THE VOLKSWAGEN ID.4

In many ways, the Volkswagen ID.4 car leasing range makes for an ideal family vehicle and could be a huge success for those drivers looking to make the switch to battery power.

This is a spacious SUV and there's plenty of space for those in the front seats, and for those sitting in the rear seats. The driver gets a good view of the road ahead and the boot is a useful 543 litres - this extends to an impressive 1,655 litres when they are folded flat.

It has to be said that the Volkswagen ID.4 SUV has a minimalist interior and it's a stylish one that will attract envious glances. While there are few physical buttons, there's a premium and upmarket feel to the cabin.

The models with the panoramic sunroof have a very light interior and there's an impressive, augmented reality head-up display to offer the car's vital information.
The infotainment screen is either a 10.0- or a 12-inch offering which is fairly easy to use. Standard equipment includes 20-inch alloy wheels, a rearview camera, LED headlights, parking sensors and adaptive cruise control.

We also really enjoyed the lighting bar that sits beneath the windscreen that will warn the driver when necessary and, when using satnav, indicate the direction that drivers should be turning. The options list is not very long, and drivers will find that most trims will meet most of their needs.

As should be expected, the VW ID.4 is a very safe car which has been awarded five stars for crash testing by Euro NCAP. The overall feel is of a solid, well-made vehicle.

Essentially, the contract hire Volkswagen ID.4 is an impressive SUV that is extremely quiet when being driven and for a zero-emissions SUV offering, it is hard to beat.
