Volkswagen ID. Buzz Lease Deals

The Volkswagen ID. Buzz is an all-electric MPV with five or seven seats, sliding rear doors and up to 293 miles of WLTP range. This page explains the single electric powertrain and the Life Pro, Style Pro and GTX Pro trims so you can pick the right version before you look at the deals below.

The Volkswagen ID. Buzz is an all-electric MPV that takes the silhouette of the old VW bus and turns it into a modern family car, with five or seven seats and a WLTP range of up to 293 miles on the best version.

It sits at the practical end of Volkswagen's electric range: the same electric underpinnings as the brand's other ID. models, but wrapped in a van-shaped body that puts people and luggage first. If you've been circling seven-seat electric SUVs and none of them excite you, this is the alternative.

The choice is simple. One body style, one electric powertrain in two power outputs, and three trims - Life Pro, Style Pro and GTX Pro - with rear-wheel drive on the first two and all-wheel drive on the GTX Pro.

About the Volkswagen ID. Buzz

The ID. Buzz is Volkswagen's electric take on its own Type 2 camper, launched in this form in 2022 and sold purely as a passenger MPV rather than a camper van. It's about 4.71 m long in shorter form.

Road testers consistently praise the airy, glassy cabin, the surprisingly tight turning circle for something this big, and the way it rides and steers more like a car than a van. The common criticisms are cabin materials that don't quite match the price, and a range that reviewers find sits below the best electric seven-seaters.

Practicality is the headline: boot space runs from 306 to 1,121 litres with the rear seats up depending on version, and every ID. Buzz carries a 3-year / 100,000-mile manufacturer warranty and a 5-star Euro NCAP rating.

Why lease a Volkswagen ID. Buzz?

Because the standard kit list is generous and the practicality is real. Every ID. Buzz gets adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, hands-free tailgate, keyless entry and start, wireless phone charging, built-in navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety and assistance kit is fitted across the range too: autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, active lane-change assist, traffic sign recognition, self-steering parking and front and rear parking sensors. Euro NCAP awarded 5 stars, with 84% for adult occupant and 85% for child occupant protection.

For leasing customers, the questions we're asked most are about seats and towing. Seven-seat layouts are available, braked towing goes up to 1,800 kg on the strongest versions, and servicing falls every 24 months or 18,600 miles - worth knowing if you're choosing a maintenance package.

Which ID. Buzz powertrain is right for me?

There's only one: a fully electric drivetrain with an automatic gearbox. What varies is battery size, power and whether drive goes to the rear wheels or all four.

Electric

Battery capacity runs from 79 to 86 kWh, power from 282 to 335 bhp, and WLTP range up to 293 miles on the best version. It's automatic, quiet and needs charging - ideally at home overnight, which takes 8.5 hours at 11 kW on the best version.

Rapid charging peaks at up to 200 kW, giving 10-80% in 28 minutes on the strongest version. Efficiency sits between 2.8 and 3.2 miles per kWh, so if you regularly cover 300 motorway miles in a day you'll be planning stops. For school runs, commuting and the odd long trip, it works well.

Which ID. Buzz trim should I choose?

Three trims, and the jump between them is mostly about screens, sound and seats rather than fundamental practicality.

Life Pro

The entry trim runs 282 bhp and rear-wheel drive, on 19-inch "Tilburg" alloy wheels with cloth upholstery. It has LED headlights, navigation, the app, heated front seats, front and rear parking sensors, a powered tailgate and a rear-view camera. A heat pump and a retractable towbar are optional.

The Life Pro is currently available from £627.47 a month.

Style Pro

Style Pro adds the Infotainment package plus with navigation system, a Harman Kardon premium sound system and a head-up display over Life Pro, along with matrix LED headlights and automatic high beam. Wheels step up to 20-inch "Sona" alloys, upholstery stays cloth, and the heat pump and retractable towbar remain options.

The Style Pro is currently available from £676.00 a month. Against the Life Pro, that is currently £48.53/mo more expensive.

GTX Pro

GTX Pro is the 335 bhp all-wheel-drive version, on 21-inch "Townsville" alloys with sports suspension. Over Style Pro it adds a panoramic glass roof, leatherette armrests on both sides of the front seats, 30-colour ambient lighting, electrically adjustable driver's seat and seat memory. Privacy glass is optional.

The GTX Pro is currently available from £699.92 a month. Against the Style Pro, that is currently £23.93/mo more expensive.

Optional packs sit on top of the trims rather than replacing them: the Infotainment+ Pack brings the Infotainment package plus with navigation system, and there are Design+, Design+/Comf and 6 St/Design+/Comf packs. Pack availability varies by version, so check the individual deal before you order.

Volkswagen ID. Buzz FAQs

Yes. It's offered with five or seven seats, the rear doors slide rather than swing - handy in tight car parks - and reviewers regularly note the headroom and visibility. Euro NCAP gave it 5 stars, with 85% for child occupant protection.

Up to 293 miles on the WLTP test on the best version, with the range starting at 252 miles depending on battery, wheels and drivetrain. Efficiency is quoted at 2.8 to 3.2 miles per kWh. Our electric car guide explains how WLTP figures translate in real driving.

Between 306 and 1,121 litres with the rear seats up, depending on version. Seven-seat layouts sit at the smaller end with all three rows in use; five-seat versions give you the big figure. Check the exact version on the deal you're considering.

It can. Braked towing capacity runs from 1,000 kg to 1,800 kg depending on version, with 750 kg unbraked. A retractable towbar is a factory option on Life Pro, Style Pro and GTX Pro, so it needs ordering at build stage rather than added later.

Volkswagen covers the vehicle for 3 years or 100,000 miles, and the battery for 8 years or 160,000 miles, guaranteeing at least 70% of its capacity in that period. Servicing is due every 24 months or 18,600 miles.

It depends entirely on what's available at the time. Trim, seat count, term, mileage and initial rental all move the monthly figure, and the cheapest version on any given week isn't always the entry trim. The live deals below show where things stand today.

Specifications from Volkswagen's UK data and Euro NCAP; equipment, seat layouts and availability vary by version, so check the individual deal before ordering.
