Overview of the Toyota Yaris Cross

ENGINES AND PERFORMANCE FOR THE TOYOTA YARIS CROSS

There's just one engine choice for the contract hire Toyota Yaris Cross and it's a three-cylinder, 1.5-litre petrol engine with two electric motors.

The combined power output is 114 bhp with emissions of 110g/km, and the car delivers economy of 66 mpg. The power is delivered using a CVT automatic transmission and there is, unlike its siblings, the choice of four-wheel drive.

This means that while the engine powers the front tyres, the electric motors power the rear tyres which helps reduce fuel consumption and boost emissions.

Toyota Yaris Cross in a nutshell

Essentially, the contract hire Toyota Yaris Cross is an impressive small car that delivers a refined vehicle that is comfortable to drive, and it is a smart and well-designed offering. As a car leasing choice, it's a sound choice in a competitive segment.

EQUIPMENT AND HANDLING FOR THE TOYOTA YARIS CROSS

Behind the wheel, the Toyota Yaris Cross lease delivers a nimble and agile car that is slightly longer, taller and wider than the Yaris.

The electric motors perform well to produce extra grunt, and the petrol engine is a sound performer on motorways, particularly at speed.

There's also a softer suspension for the Yaris Cross which copes with body lean very well and it's impressive on rough roads.

The steering feedback is good and even in two-wheel drive, the Yaris Cross offers excellent levels of grip and it's very impressive in all-wheel drive guise.

The cabin is a quiet place to spend time in what is a refined and well-designed interior. In electric-only mode, the Yaris Cross is very quiet and even at speed, the petrol engine can barely be heard.

The interior of the Yaris Cross resembles its sibling but it's still a solid and well-made cabin to enjoy.

There's a new 9.0-inch infotainment display that is easy-to-use with a sharper screen.

The driver's seat is easy to adjust, and the seat's position means that the driver has a good view of the road ahead, plus there's a rear camera fitted as standard to help whenever the car needs to be reversed.

And since this is a spacious cabin, there's plenty of room for those in the rear seats - though very tall passengers may feel squeezed.
