The Yeti has been an outstanding success for the carmaker and the Outdoor is its special off-road version. There's no doubt that the Skoda Yeti Outdoor is great to drive on the road and with its higher clearance, makes it a useful vehicle to travel off-road when the need arises.
There are a range of engines available for the Yeti Outdoor and all of them are good performers though the 1.6 litre diesel Greenline variant is probably the one to choose since this will return around 50mpg due to the permanent all-wheel drive. That's quite a useful economy figure though when compared to the standard Yeti, the Greenline diesel engine in that car will return around 61 mpg. The Yeti Outdoor also has an excellent petrol engine in the form of the 1.2 litre TSI.
Skoda have also developed a new clutch for the Yeti and the car’s towing capacity has been increased to 2,100kg.
On board, the Yeti remains an extremely comfortable family car to own and drive with its high levels of standard equipment. The market for cars that can be used occasionally off-road is growing and the Yeti Outdoor will undoubtedly win new fans. Indeed, its off-road abilities show it is surprisingly nimble and offers plenty of grip while having little in the way of body roll. This high level of performance is mainly down to the excellent chassis and owners will be able to put the Yeti Outdoor through its paces without too many worries. On the road, the car is an impressive performer.
To help underline its off-road capabilities, the Skoda Yeti Outdoor comes with a rough roads package which includes underfloor protection for when the car travels over rough ground. Some models also come with the ability to alter the driving dynamics such as the traction and stability control as well as the ABS for when the car is on slippery ground.
Essentially, the Skoda Yeti Outdoor is a compact SUV which offers the convenience and practicality of a hatchback and this is a crossover that has a lot of fans. With plenty of grip and a small footprint means it's an agile performer, even when taken off road.
