The Škoda Superb Hatchback is a five-seat family car with a boot of up to 645 litres, petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid power, and a five-star Euro NCAP rating. This page explains the trims, the powertrains and how the Hatchback compares with the Estate before you choose a deal.
The Škoda Superb Hatchback is a big, five-seat family car that gives you the space of a large estate in a sleeker shape, with a boot of up to 645 litres and a length of 4.91 metres. It sits at the top of Škoda's car range, above the Octavia.
Reviewers consistently describe it as one of the roomiest cars in its class and a genuinely relaxing long-distance machine, with rear leg room that embarrasses far pricier executive saloons. It isn't a sports car, and it doesn't pretend to be.
The choice is simple enough: one body style on this page, three powertrains (Petrol, Diesel and Plug-in hybrid) and four trims, from SE Technology up to Laurin + Klement.

The current Superb Hatchback is the fourth-generation car, on sale in this form since 2024. It's a five-seat, five-door family car built around space, comfort and quiet motorway manners, backed by a 3-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty.
Road testers praise the same things almost every time: the cabin quality, the hushed ride at speed and the sheer amount of room in the back. Criticism tends to land on the firm low-speed ride on larger wheels and a digital driver's display that takes some learning.
The practical numbers back it up. Boot space runs from 486 to 645 litres with the rear seats up depending on the version, stretching to between 1,635 and 1,795 litres folded, and Euro NCAP awarded the Superb a full five stars.
Both cars seat five and share the same 2.84 m wheelbase, so rear passengers get the same treatment. The difference is the boot and the tailgate shape: the Hatchback is the sleeker, marginally longer choice, the Estate the outright load-carrier.
The Hatchback measures 4.91 m long and carries 486 to 645 litres with the seats up. The Superb Estate is marginally shorter overall at 4.90 m but offers 510 to 690 litres, rising to 1,770-1,920 litres folded, and its square opening makes bulky items far easier to load.
Towing is the same story on both: up to 2,200 kg braked on the strongest versions. If you'd rather see everything side by side, the full Škoda Superb range is here.
Because the standard specification is unusually complete for a family car, and leasing lets you take a well-equipped one on a fixed monthly rental for a fixed term. Every Superb Hatchback, whatever the trim, arrives with kit that's often optional elsewhere.
That list includes adaptive cruise control, heated front seats, wireless phone charging, built-in navigation, a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, three-zone climate control, privacy glass and power-folding door mirrors.
On safety, every version has blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition and automatic high beam, and the Superb scored 93% for adult occupant protection and 87% for child occupant protection in Euro NCAP testing.
Servicing falls every 24 months or 18,600 miles, which suits high-mileage drivers, and the anti-corrosion guarantee runs to 12 years. Worth checking your annual mileage honestly before you order - our guide to choosing your car, mileage and term covers how that works.
Three choices: Petrol, Diesel or Plug-in hybrid. All are automatic.
The broadest choice, from 148 bhp up to 261 bhp, with front- or all-wheel drive and a 7-speed automatic gearbox. WLTP economy spans 35.3-56.5 mpg and 0-62 mph takes between 5.6 and 9.2 seconds. It suits mixed driving and shorter commutes, with no charging to think about.
A 2-litre with 148 to 190 bhp, automatic, front- or all-wheel drive, and 360-400 Nm of torque. WLTP economy of 47.1-56.5 mpg and braked towing of 2,000-2,200 kg make it the natural pick if you cover big motorway miles or pull a caravan.
A 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine paired with a 25.7 kWh battery (19.7 kWh usable), giving 268 bhp through a 6-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. It needs plugging in to make sense: a home wallbox takes it from 0-100% in 2.5 hours at 11 kW on the best version, and it can accept 40 kW DC for a 10-80% top-up in 26 minutes. The battery carries an 8-year / 100,000-mile warranty guaranteeing 70% of capacity. New to plug-ins? Start with our electric and hybrid leasing guides.

Four trims, and even the entry car is well equipped, so the decision is mostly about seat comfort, wheels and lighting.

Adaptive suspension is standard here. A 360-degree camera, self-steering parking, heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel can be added as options.
The most comfort-focused trim, on 18-inch "Belatrix" alloys with a dark chrome logo, leather and artificial leather upholstery and the advanced massage function for the front seats. It adds a 360-degree camera, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, self-steering parking, front and rear parking sensors, paddle shifters and sports seats. Entry versions start at 201 bhp.
Which trims are on offer changes as stock and funder terms are refreshed, so it's worth checking the current Hatchback deals rather than assuming.
