Of the engines for the Peugeot 508, the 1.6 litre petrol unit, available in either 180hp or 225hp guises, delivers a sporty performance to help deliver a fun driving experience. The 508 also comes with a plug-in hybrid alternative with all-electric driving range of 30 miles and Peugeot says this version will return around 235 mpg.

The better spec models come with parking sensors, keyless entry, a 180° camera plus ambient lighting. There's no doubt that the Peugeot 508 is designed for delivering comfort rather than a sporty driving experience, so it's a comfortable cabin to spend time in on long journeys. The suspension deals with winding country roads and potholes really well and the steering delivers good feedback - the overall experience is a car that delivers a relaxed driving environment. The Peugeot 508 as a family car with cool looks and a smart interior that has a premium feel, - and with lots of equipment and an overall impressive feel of quality to make this a family car that is certainly worth considering.
