View dealThe MG IM6 is a large electric SUV: five seats, 4.90 metres long, one 100 kWh battery and up to 388 miles of WLTP range in the longest-legged version. It sits at the very top of MG's UK line-up, well above the brand's familiar small and mid-size models.
It's built for people who cover real distance. Long motorway runs, ultra-rapid charging and a lot of standard equipment are the pitch here, which is why the IM6 turns up so often on company car shortlists.
The choice in front of you is refreshingly short: one SUV body, one battery, and three versions - Long Range, Performance and Launch Edition - with rear- or all-wheel drive depending on which you pick.

The IM6 is MG's move upmarket - a premium-sized electric SUV that wears IM badging rather than the octagon, sold and supported through MG's UK dealer network. It's the biggest, most powerful and most heavily equipped car the brand offers.
Reviewers consistently praise the space, the equipment count and the charging speed, and they're equally consistent about the weaknesses: a touchscreen-led cabin that takes learning, and a ride that's firm on poor surfaces. Road testers rate it highly as a motorway car.
The practical numbers back that up. Five seats, a boot of 646 to 665 litres depending on version, a seven-year or 80,000-mile manufacturer warranty and a five-star Euro NCAP rating, with 90% for adult occupant protection.
Because the IM6 arrives loaded, so there's very little to specify and little to regret. Every version gets adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, heated and ventilated massaging front seats, heated rear seats, a heat pump, wireless phone charging and a fixed panoramic glass roof.
The driver-assistance list is equally full: blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, active lane-change assist, autonomous emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors and self-steering parking. Four-wheel steering is standard too, which helps a 4.90-metre car down to a 10.2-metre turning circle.
For families there's a hands-free tailgate, keyless entry and start, dual-zone climate control and braked towing of up to 1,500 kg. New to electric? Our electric car guide covers the basics before you commit to a contract.
There's only one: a fully electric 100 kWh setup, automatic, with rear- or all-wheel drive depending on the version you choose. Power runs from 402 to 741 bhp and WLTP range from 313 to 388 miles.
The 100 kWh battery (96.5 kWh usable) needs charging, obviously, but it charges quickly: 10-80% in 17 minutes at 350 kW on the best version, or 10-100% in 16 hours on a 7 kW home charger. Automatic throughout. Best suited to drivers with somewhere to plug in overnight.

Start with how much power you actually want, because that's the main difference between the three versions - the equipment list is generous on all of them.
The rear-wheel-drive version, 402 bhp, with the range figure that gives it its name - up to 388 miles. It rides on 20-inch "Aero" alloy wheels with leather upholstery, satellite navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a double-glazed thermal insulating panoramic glass roof, a powered tailgate and a heated leather steering wheel.
The Long Range is currently available from £419.39 a month.
Then come the fast ones. Performance swaps to all-wheel drive for 741 bhp, with 21-inch "Sporty" alloy wheels in place of the 20-inch Aero design. Range sits within the 313-388 mile span, depending on version - that's the trade.
The Performance is currently available from £505.19 a month. Against the Long Range, that is currently £85.80/mo more expensive.
Mechanically the Launch Edition matches the Performance: 741 bhp, all-wheel drive, 21-inch Sporty alloys and leather upholstery. It's an edition of that car built around its look rather than a step up in standard kit, so choose it if you like how it presents itself.
The Launch Edition is currently available from £566.99 a month. Against the Performance, that is currently £61.80/mo more expensive.
