For anyone who needs eight seats in a luxurious and spacious vehicle, nothing compares with the V Class. It's also big on practicality and style.
It's based on an impressive van and the chassis makes for an excellent MPV capable of carrying eight people in comfort, though most people will probably opt for the seven seat configuration. The similarity with its van stablemate ends there because the V Class is an up-to-date creation that is packed with the latest technology and safety features including crosswind assist and driver attention assist. There's an excellent engine under the bonnet, it's more economical than its rivals, with the 2.1 litre diesel unit producing 187bhp and a decent 0 to 62 mph time of 9.1 seconds - and, more impressively, it returns around 47mpg. Economy is also boosted by the BlueTech system too. In addition, buyers can choose three seat combinations for the V Class and two lengths.
This is a distinctive looking people carrier and interior has been well-designed and well-made. The central display consists of a touchpad controller which has a clever element to it and the MPV is nice to drive with light steering with good feedback. The dampers make even the bumpiest road feel smooth. There are also some very nice design ideas including the back window opening to gain access to the cabin without having to open the large rear door. Buyers can also choose one of four driving modes, including Eco and Sport which will alter the throttle and suspension to suit the preference of the driver or for the road conditions. The best one is Comfort which makes the V Class a very pleasant place to be. For many reasons, the impressive V Class sets the benchmark for the MPV sector with had to be levels of refinement and efficiency as well as safety.
