Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe Lease Deals

The Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is the sloping-roofed, five-seat version of Mercedes-Benz's large GLE SUV, offered with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid power, all automatic and all-wheel drive. Two trims are available here, AMG Line and AMG Night Edition, while stocks last.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is the style-led version of the brand's large GLE SUV: same five seats and the same air-sprung, all-wheel-drive underpinnings, but with a lower, sloping roofline and a wider, more planted stance. It sits above the GLC and below the GLS in the Mercedes-Benz SUV family.

It suits a driver who wants a big, quiet, long-legged car and cares how it looks parked outside the house. You still get a boot of 510 to 655 litres depending on version, five seats and braked towing of up to 3,500 kg on the petrol.

The choice is simple enough: one body, three powertrains (petrol, diesel or plug-in hybrid, all automatic and all-wheel drive) and two trims, AMG Line and AMG Night Edition. A newer model year has been announced but isn't orderable through us, so the versions here are the outgoing ones, available while stocks last.

About the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe

The GLE Coupe is a large luxury SUV with a coupé roofline, measuring around 4.94 m long on a 2.94 m wheelbase, seating five and carrying 510 to 655 litres in the boot depending on the version you pick.

Mercedes-Benz built it as its answer to the coupé-SUV idea, on sale in this form since 2023. Reviewers consistently praise the cabin, the standard air suspension and how settled it feels on a motorway; the common criticisms are rear headroom for taller adults, restricted over-the-shoulder visibility and a ride that never quite shrugs off the big wheels.

It's covered by a three-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty and scored five stars in Euro NCAP testing, with 91% for adult occupant protection.

Why lease a Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe?

Because every version arrives loaded. Air suspension, an opening panoramic roof, leather upholstery, a head-up display, heated front seats with electric memory, four-zone climate control, heated steering wheel, built-in navigation, digital instruments and wireless phone charging are standard across the range.

Safety and assistance kit is equally thorough: autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beam, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors and self-steering parking assistance. Adaptive cruise control is a factory option on both trims.

On practicality, it's a genuine five-seater with a hands-free tailgate, 1,645 to 1,790 litres with the rear bench folded, and braked towing from 2,700 kg up to 3,500 kg depending on powertrain. A retractable towbar is available as an option. Servicing falls every 12 months or 15,500 miles, which is worth knowing when you're deciding whether to add maintenance to a contract.

Which GLE Coupe powertrain is right for me?

Three: petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid, all with a nine-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive. Pick on mileage and whether you can charge at home.

Petrol

The petrol runs from 429 bhp to 604 bhp, with 0-62 mph in 3.9 to 5.0 seconds depending on version. WLTP economy is 22.6 to 27.4 mpg, so it's for drivers who want the performance and don't cover big annual mileages. It's the only version rated to tow 3,500 kg braked.

Diesel

A 3.0-litre six-cylinder with 362 bhp and 750 Nm, doing 0-62 mph in 5.6 seconds. WLTP economy of 35.3 to 38.2 mpg makes it the sensible long-distance choice if you're regularly on motorways and don't want to think about charging. Braked towing is 2,700 kg.

Plug-in hybrid

The plug-in hybrid pairs a petrol engine with a 25 kWh battery, giving 328 bhp to 537 bhp and 0-62 mph in 4.7 to 6.9 seconds. It charges at up to 11 kW, with the best version going from 10-100% in 2.8 hours. It only makes sense if you can plug in regularly; the boot is 510 litres. Our electric and hybrid leasing guides cover how these work day to day.

Which GLE Coupe trim should I choose?

Two trims: AMG Line and AMG Night Edition. Both are well equipped, and the difference is mainly wheels, seat comfort and darker exterior detailing.

AMG Line

AMG Line brings 21-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels in himalayas grey with a high-sheen finish, Multibeam LED headlights with adaptive high beam assist plus, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sliding sunroof, leather upholstery, air suspension and four-zone climate control. Its entry version has 328 bhp.

The AMG Line is currently available from £1,358.18 a month.

AMG Night Edition

A petrol-only trim, starting at 429 bhp, with 22-inch AMG cross-spoke alloys and darker exterior detailing - so a good part of what you're paying for is the look. Over AMG Line it adds a three-spoke AMG Performance multifunction steering wheel in nappa leather and MICROCUT, multicontour front seats with massage, and roof rails.

The AMG Night Edition is currently available from £1,645.04 a month.

Similar cars to consider

If you want a coupé-roofed luxury SUV that's sharper to drive, the Porsche Cayenne covers much of the same ground. It's also worth browsing the wider Mercedes-Benz range if practicality matters more than the roofline.

Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe FAQs

For a family of four or five, yes. It has five seats, a boot of 510 to 655 litres depending on version and a five-star Euro NCAP rating with 90% for child occupant protection. The trade-off is rear headroom: the sloping roof makes life tighter for taller adults in the back.

It will drive without charging, but you'd be carrying a 25 kWh battery for nothing. Charging is at up to 11 kW, and the best version goes from 10-100% in 2.8 hours, so an overnight home charge is straightforward if you have a wallbox. No home charging, and the diesel is usually the better fit.

Between 510 and 655 litres with the rear seats up, depending on version, and 1,645 to 1,790 litres with them folded. The plug-in hybrid is the 510-litre version; petrol and diesel versions carry 655 litres. A hands-free tailgate is standard throughout.

It can. Braked towing ranges from 2,700 kg to 3,500 kg depending on version, with the 3,500 kg figure on the petrol; unbraked is 750 kg. A retractable towbar is a factory option on both trims, so if you plan to tow, specify it at order stage - it can't be added to a lease car later without permission.

Three years with unlimited mileage, plus a three-year paintwork guarantee and a 30-year anti-corrosion guarantee. The plug-in hybrid's battery is covered for six years or 62,000 miles, guaranteeing 70% of capacity. Servicing is every 12 months or 15,500 miles. There's a tyre repair kit rather than a spare wheel.

It depends entirely on what's available at the time, and it moves as stock and terms change - a higher-powered version isn't automatically dearer per month.
