The Mercedes-Benz EQV is a full-size electric MPV that carries seven people in a properly quiet, properly comfortable cabin. It's the people-carrier answer to the question most electric seven-seat SUVs dodge: can everyone sit in a real seat, with real space around them?
It sits at the practical end of Mercedes-Benz's electric line-up, and it makes most sense for large families, airport and executive transfer work, and anyone who moves people and their luggage rather than just their laptop bag.
The choice is simple. One body, one electric powertrain and one trim, Executive, so the decision is really about whether the size and the range suit your life.

The EQV is a 5.14 m long, seven-seat electric MPV derived from Mercedes-Benz's van-based luxury people carrier, with a 90 kWh battery and a WLTP range of up to 222 miles. Every EQV comes with a three-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty.
Reviewers consistently praise the same things: the hush at speed, the pillowy ride and the sheer amount of room in rows two and three, where passengers get genuine seats rather than a token pair of perches. The cabin feels far more limousine than van.
The criticisms are consistent too. It's a big vehicle to park, performance is adequate rather than brisk, and the range is modest next to some electric seven-seat SUVs. Boot space is quoted at 100 litres with all the rear seats up and 463 litres with them folded.
Because a large electric MPV is a fast-moving category, and leasing lets you take one for a fixed term rather than committing to it long-term. Every EQV also arrives heavily equipped, so there's no long options list to agonise over before you order.
Standard across the range: adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, self-steering parking assist, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, traffic sign recognition and automatic high beam. Useful things on a vehicle this size.
Comfort and convenience kit includes heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a powered tailgate, keyless entry and start, wireless phone charging, climate control, ambient lighting, privacy glass and built-in navigation with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Charging is straightforward enough: up to 110 kW on a rapid charger gives 10-80% in 45 minutes on the best version, and a 7.4 kW home wallbox takes around 10 hours for a full charge. Our guide to charging an electric car covers how that works day to day.
There's only one, so the real question is whether an electric MPV fits your mileage pattern. The EQV is battery-electric only, front-wheel drive and automatic, with a 90 kWh battery and a WLTP range of up to 222 miles.
The single motor produces 201 bhp and 366 Nm, enough for 0-62 mph in 12.1 seconds and a 98 mph top speed. It needs plugging in, and it suits drivers with home or depot charging doing school runs, city work and airport transfers rather than back-to-back motorway marathons.
| Electric | |
|---|---|
| Boot | 100 litres |
| Power | 201 bhp |
| Seats | 7 |
| Battery | 90 kWh |
| 0–62 mph | 12.1 s |
| Electric range (WLTP) | 222 miles |
There's one trim, Executive, and it's comprehensively equipped, so the decision is about colour and options rather than specification level.
Executive is the 201 bhp front-wheel-drive EQV on 17-inch "5 Spoke" alloy wheels, with leather upholstery, multibeam LED headlights, the Navigation system plus, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration and a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel. Air conditioning, a reversing camera and automatic parking assist are included.
The Executive is currently available from £1,441.08 a month.
Ten paint colours are offered across the range, from Arctic white and Obsidian black to Hyacinth red, Kalahari gold and Sodalite blue. Worth choosing carefully: on a vehicle with this much surface area, the colour does a lot of the work.
Nothing really replicates a seven-seat electric MPV, but if the seat count matters less than the badge and the driving experience, the Porsche Taycan is worth a look. You can also browse the wider Mercedes-Benz range.
