View dealThe Mercedes-Benz C Class Electric is a five-seat executive saloon built purely as an electric car, with a 94 kWh battery, 482 bhp and all-wheel drive. It's aimed squarely at company car drivers and long-distance private buyers who want a familiar badge without a fuel card.
In Mercedes-Benz's line-up it sits in the compact executive class, below the larger saloons but well grown-up in size at about 4.88 m long. Reviewers describe it as a comfort-first luxury saloon rather than a sharp-handling one.
The choice is simple: one body style, one powertrain, and five trims - Sport, AMG Line, AMG Line Premium, AMG Line Premium + and Premier Edition. So the decision is really about equipment, wheels and screens.

This is the current C Class Electric, a five-seat saloon built as a fully electric model. Five seats, a 470-litre boot and a WLTP range of up to 452 miles give it genuine long-haul credentials.
The C Class name has been Mercedes-Benz's biggest seller for decades, and the electric version leans on that history rather than hiding it - hence the upright, illuminated grille that road testers find divisive.
What reviewers agree on is the ride and refinement. The suspension is consistently praised as plush and quiet, closer to a luxury saloon than a sports saloon, and the cabin quality and screen technology draw praise too, though some testers find the amount of screen overwhelming. Mercedes-Benz covers the battery for 8 years or 100,000 miles, guaranteeing 70% of capacity.
Because every version arrives well equipped and the kit that matters is standard. Adaptive cruise control, an opening panoramic roof, heated front seats, keyless entry and start, wireless phone charging, built-in navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are fitted across the range.
Safety and assistance kit is standard too: autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, a rear-view camera and LED headlights. Dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, privacy glass, rain-sensing wipers and power-folding mirrors round it out.
Practically, it's a proper four-door family car - five seats, a 470-litre boot with the rear seats up, and braked towing of up to 1,800 kg. Charging is quick: up to 330 kW on the best version, giving 10-80% in 22 minutes, or a full home charge in 10.5 hours at 11 kW.
There's only one, so this part is easy: a single fully electric, all-wheel-drive set-up shared by every trim. No engine, no fuel, and an automatic drive with no gears to think about.
A 94 kWh battery, 482 bhp and all-wheel drive, with a WLTP range of up to 452 miles. It's automatic, it needs charging rather than filling, and 0-62 mph takes 4.0 seconds. Best suited to drivers with home or workplace charging who cover long motorway miles.

| Boot | 470 litres |
| Power | 482 bhp |
| Seats | 5 |

All five trims share the same powertrain, so pick on wheels, screens, seats and parking aids rather than performance.
The entry trim, and far from basic: 19-inch Multi Spoke alloy wheels, hard disc navigation, smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic glass sunroof and Artico man-made leather upholstery. You also get an electrically adjustable driver's seat, digital instruments and automatic high beam. A fixed towbar is available as an option.
The Sport is currently available from £849.78 a month.
AMG Line swaps in 19-inch AMG 5 Spoke alloys, the SKY CONTROL panoramic glass roof, a flat-bottomed nappa leather sports steering wheel, Digital AMG Line styling and the MBUX Superscreen. Front sports seats and electric seat memory are added. Air suspension and four-wheel steering join the options list.
The AMG Line is currently available from £872.64 a month. Against the Sport, that is currently £22.86/mo more expensive.
This is the parking-and-comfort step. It brings 19-inch AMG 5 Twin Spoke alloys, MBUX augmented reality navigation, a heated steering wheel, a parking package with 360-degree camera, and wireless charging in the front. Front and rear parking sensors and a powered tailgate are included too.

Premier Edition is mostly about the look: 20-inch AMG Multi Spoke alloys finished in black, plus leather upholstery in place of the artificial leather used further down the range. Mechanically it's identical, and air suspension, four-wheel steering and a fixed towbar remain options.
The Premier Edition is currently available from £996.65 a month.
If you're shortlisting electric executive saloons, the obvious other name to look at is the BMW i4. It's worth browsing the wider Mercedes-Benz lease range as well if a saloon shape isn't essential.
