The Maxus Mifa 9 is a large electric MPV built to carry people in comfort rather than to look like an SUV. About the Maxus Mifa 9

The Mifa 9 is an electric-only MPV designed as a people carrier from the start, not a converted van. Reviewers consistently praise the space, the second-row armchairs and the quiet, effortless motorway cruising, while criticising ride quality over broken surfaces and real-world efficiency that falls short of the official figure.

Maxus quotes a WLTP electric range of up to 270 miles from the 90 kWh battery, and there's a 466-litre boot behind the third row, expanding to 2,017 litres with those seats folded. The third row genuinely takes adults, which is more than most seven-seat SUVs manage.

Backing it up is a 5-year, 100,000-mile manufacturer warranty, with the battery covered for 8 years or 150,000 miles and guaranteed to 95% of capacity.

Why lease a Maxus Mifa 9?

Because it does something very few cars do: carry seven or eight people in electric silence with proper luggage space behind them. On a lease you get that without owning a niche vehicle at the end of the term, which matters for a brand still establishing itself in UK passenger cars.

Which Mifa 9 powertrain is right for me?

There's only one, so this part is easy: the Mifa 9 is electric, automatic and front-wheel drive across the range.

Electric, 90 kWh, 241 bhp

The 90 kWh battery gives a WLTP range of up to 270 miles, with 350 Nm of torque, 0-62 mph in 9.9 seconds and a 112 mph top speed. It needs charging, so a home wallbox makes sense - 11 kW AC takes 8.5 hours from 5-100% on the best version. Rapid charging covers 20-80% in 30 minutes at 180 kW. Start with seat count, then decide how much comfort kit you want. Elite covers the essentials, Luxury adds the sunroofs and convenience features, and Premium concentrates on front-seat comfort.

Elite

The entry trim is well equipped: 18-inch "Star Style" alloys, LED headlights, PVC leather upholstery, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree surround camera, front and rear parking sensors and air conditioning. Nothing essential is missing.

Mechanically and in equipment terms this matches the Elite - the difference is the seating layout rather than the kit list. Choose it if you genuinely need the eighth seat more often than you need the walk-through middle row.

Luxury

Luxury moves to 19-inch "Multi" alloys and adds front and rear electric sunroofs, a micro fibre leather steering wheel, wireless phone charging and a power tailgate. Also included are heated rear seats, an electrically adjustable driver's seat, privacy glass, ambient lighting, power-folding mirrors, rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlights.

The Luxury is currently available from £1,116.14 a month. Against the Elite [8 Seat], that is currently £79.82/mo more expensive.

Luxury [8 Seat]

Same equipment as the Luxury, configured with eight seats instead of seven. Worth a look if you're carrying larger groups and can live without the second-row captain's chair layout.

Premium

Premium fits 19-inch "Double Six" alloys, leather and PVC leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel and a four-way electrically adjustable passenger seat. Front seats gain heating, ventilation, massage and electric memory - the trim to have if you spend long hours up front.
