The Lotus Emeya is Lotus's electric four-door saloon, sold in one body style with a 102 kWh battery and 604–905 bhp. This page explains the trim range, the standard kit and who the car suits, with live lease deals below.
From £2,346.65 per month inc. VAT
View dealThe Lotus Emeya is a big, fast, all-electric four-door saloon - the low-slung sister car to the Eletre SUV, and about as far from a stripped-out Elise as Lotus has ever travelled. It's 5.14 m long, seats five and carries 509 litres of luggage with the rear seats up.
It suits someone who covers long motorway miles and wants a luxury electric car that isn't another German badge. Charging at home overnight matters: this is a 102 kWh car, and it rewards a wallbox. You can see the rest of the brand's line-up on our Lotus leasing page.
The choice is simple enough once you know the shape of it. One body, one electric powertrain in two power outputs, and trims running from the Emeya entry model through GT, GT SE, Sport SE, Sport and Sport Carbon, with the 905 bhp R above them.

The Emeya is Lotus's electric grand tourer: a five-seat saloon with air suspension, all-wheel drive and a 5-year manufacturer warranty. Road testers consistently praise the cabin quality, the hushed motorway refinement and the ride, and just as consistently point out that it's heavy.
Reviewers who expected an electric version of Lotus's featherweight sports cars generally come away saying the Emeya is something else - a comfortable, seriously quick long-distance car with genuinely good steering, rather than a track toy. Practicality is better than the sleek roofline suggests, with 509 litres behind the rear seats and 1,388 litres once they're folded.
It's also a head-turner, which is worth factoring in if you'd rather not be looked at.
Leasing suits a car like this because you fix your monthly cost for the term and hand it back at the end, with the 5-year manufacturer warranty covering the whole of a typical contract. The equipment list is also unusually complete, so there's less pressure to gamble on options.
Every Emeya has matrix LED headlights, a head-up display, heated front seats and heated steering wheel, electric seat memory, keyless entry and start, wireless phone charging, built-in navigation, four-zone climate control, a heat pump and air suspension.
Safety and assistance kit is standard across the range too: autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beam and front and rear parking sensors. Insurance sits in group 50, so get a quote before you order.
There's one powertrain, offered in two states of tune, so the real decision is how much power you want rather than which fuel.
Every Emeya is fully electric and needs charging - there's no petrol back-up. It's automatic and all-wheel drive, with 604 bhp at the bottom of the range and 905 bhp at the top, and 0-62 mph takes 2.8 to 4.2 seconds depending on version.
Efficiency is quoted at 3.5 miles/kWh. A 22 kW supply fills the battery from 0-100% in 5.5 hours on the best version, and the fastest version can take 10-80% in 15 minutes at 420 kW - though chargers that quick are rare. Our electric car guide covers the basics.

All seven versions share the same standard kit listed above, so the differences come down to wheels, seat comfort features and chassis hardware.
The starting point: 604 bhp, all-wheel drive, 20-inch alloy wheels and cloth upholstery, with satellite navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats, adaptive cruise control, a powered tailgate and a wi-fi hotspot. Self-steering parking and a retractable towbar are factory options.
GT moves up to 21-inch alloys and adds front park assist along with self-steering parking. Massaging and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and the retractable towbar are all available as options.
The GT is currently available from £1,683.24 a month.
GT SE adds a hands-free power tailgate you open with a kick of the foot, plus configurable ambient lighting with adjustable colour and brightness. The seat comfort options and towbar carry over.
The GT SE is currently available from £1,757.38 a month. Against the GT, that is currently £74.14/mo more expensive.
Sport SE is the comfort-and-chassis step: massaging and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and four-wheel steering, which owners rate for shrinking the turning circle in car parks. Still 604 bhp, still 21-inch alloys, with the towbar remaining optional.
The Sport SE is currently available from £1,885.10 a month. Against the GT SE, that is currently £127.73/mo more expensive.
Sport takes the 905 bhp powertrain and pairs it with satellite navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger with NFC, the hands-free tailgate, keyless entry and exit, self-steering parking and a wi-fi hotspot. Massaging and ventilated front seats and heated rear seats are options here.
The Sport is currently available from £2,207.58 a month.
Sport Carbon is the Sport with the seat comfort pack made standard - massaging and ventilated front seats and heated rear seats - and a harder-edged look. Same 905 bhp, same 21-inch alloys, towbar optional.
The Sport Carbon is currently available from £2,346.65 a month. Against the Sport, that is currently £139.07/mo more expensive.
The R is the performance Emeya: 905 bhp, all-wheel drive, 21-inch "5 Spoke" alloys and artificial leather upholstery, with online navigation, a front 15 W wireless charger, keyless entry, rear privacy glass, a 12.6-inch driver's display, a digital instrument cluster, voice control and a powered tailgate. A fixed panoramic glass roof, seat comfort features, self-steering parking and the towbar are options.
