Land Rover Discovery in a nutshell

The latest Land Rover Discovery is not only a premium contract hire SUV to enjoy, it also has great agility. The Discovery is undoubtedly one of the best off-roaders currently available and offers surprising fuel economy.

ENGINES AND PERFORMANCE FOR THE LAND ROVER DISCOVERY

The engines for the Land Rover Discovery car lease include a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 296 bhp. The Si4-badged motor will sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 7.3 seconds.

The 2.0-litre diesel unit does the same sprint in 8.7 seconds with the engine producing 237 bhp. While this may sound as though it might be underpowered, in real-world driving it is not.

The 3.0-litre diesel engine delivers more torque and power while being marginally quicker than the 2.0-litre diesel sibling. If you will be carrying a car packed with passengers and luggage, then the larger diesel engine will deliver an easier to live with performance.

The new Discovery is lighter and more fuel-efficient than the model it replaces with the 2.0-litre diesel unit returning 34 mpg, and the larger diesel engine returning 31 mpg. The petrol engine is a tad thirstier at 25 mpg.

EQUIPMENT AND HANDLING FOR THE LAND ROVER DISCOVERY

As a car leasing choice, there's a lot to recommend the Land Rover Discovery since this is a premium SUV creation that is relaxing and comfortable to drive.

The latest model can also seat seven adults in comfort, and the entry level engine delivers good performance. Indeed, the Discovery is a rewarding car to drive around town and delivers impeccable road manners on long motorway journeys.

It's also one of the best off-roading cars and offers versatility and practicality in equal measure. The Discovery will deal with just about any terrain with confidence - thanks mainly to the excellent Terrain Response system and the high ground clearance.

Standard equipment includes seven seats, an impressive eight-inch display and air suspension. There's also an inner tailgate that offers somewhere to sit when outdoors. The options list includes leather seats, and the dashboard reflects the Discovery's pitch to drivers - it is a practical and luxurious car lease creation.

There's an impressive digital instrument display and an easy-to-use infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. Other models feature all-round parking sensors, satnav, a premium stereo and larger alloy wheels. The Discovery HSE has a panoramic sunroof, a reversing camera and keyless entry.

The Land Rover Discovery scored five stars when crash-tested by Euro NCAP and comes with a range of safety equipment including lane-departure warning and autonomous emergency braking. Safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control and a driver tiredness alert system.

When all seven seats are in place, the boot size is just 220 litres but with five seats it is a useful 1,137 litres. With the middle and back row seats folded down, the boot size expands to an impressive 2,406 litres.

Essentially, for anyone leasing the Land Rover Discovery, they will be enjoying one of the most practical, premium SUVs with impeccable road manners and it's one of the best all-round cars currently available.
