Overview of the Kia EV6

ENGINES AND PERFORMANCE FOR THE Kia EV6

The contract hire Kia EV6 has one battery choice, it's a 77.4kWh unit offering a range of 314 miles in the all-wheel drive version. Opt for the two-wheel drive EV6 and the range extends to 328 miles.

The two electric motors produce 321 bhp and torque of 405Nm. That means drivers get to enjoy a 0 to 62 mph sprint time of 5.2 seconds. There's regenerative braking onboard to help maximise the range but it's for the 800v electrical architecture that helps this car stand out.

That's because it's capable of ultra-rapid charging - only a few cars can do this currently. This means a flat battery can be recharged to 80% of its capacity in just 18 minutes.

And if you use ultra-rapid charging, you can add more than 60 miles of range in around five minutes. Recharging the battery from a home wall box will take around 7.5 hours.

EQUIPMENT AND HANDLING FOR THE KIA EV6

Thanks to the powerful electric motors on the Kia EV6 car lease range means that overtaking on motorways is a breeze, and there's nice, agile handling around town.

Progress is swift from a standing start because the torque is immediately available, and the cabin is a very quiet place to spend time, even when travelling at motorway speeds. The suspension deals with rough roads and there's little body lean when cornering.

This is also a very comfortable EV to enjoy with good steering feedback and the version with the all-wheel drive delivers grip and performance.

Drivers get a stylish curved display for the infotainment system - there are two 12.3-inch screens that are responsive with sharp graphics. This is a long car so there's lots of space in the cabin, particularly for those in the rear seats, and lots of headroom. Standard equipment for the Kia EV6 includes 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and black vegan leather upholstery.

Drivers also get to enjoy rear parking sensors, dual automatic air-conditioning and a satnav-based smart cruise control system. There's also highway driving assist and various driving modes to enjoy the car to its fullest.

The EV6 GT-Line offers front parking sensors, premium relaxation seats, alloy driver pedals and wireless smartphone charging. Drivers also get a blind spot collision warning system, privacy glass and some interior and exterior styling tweaks.

There's also the EV6 GT-Line S which adds a powered tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, a top-end sound system and remote smart parking assist. The model also has a blind spot view monitor, parking collision avoidance, and an augmented reality head-up display.

The line-up will include the EV6 GT which is set to be the range-topper that promises more comfort, including a battery heat pump, bucket seats, 21-inch wheels and an electronically controlled suspension. The GT also promises an EV with a power output of 577 bhp, and a sprint time of just 3.5 seconds.
