The Jaguar XF is a great looking car that offers an impressive drive. There's also plenty of space too in this top performer to make it an interesting alternative for those who want something to the dominant German cars in this segment.
The latest version of the Jaguar XF is much lighter than its predecessor which has helped to boost fuel economy. For instance, the 2.0litre diesel engine will return 71mpg while having emissions of 104g/km.
Most models are available with the firm's excellent 2.0 litre Ingenium diesel unit with has outputs of 161bhp or 178bhp and these are coupled to an eight speed automatic gearbox or a six speed manual. The 178bhp engine will return around 66 mpg.
The flagship model is the Jaguar XF S and this has a choice of either a 3.0litre V6 diesel engine that produces 296bhp or a 3.0litre V6 petrol engine that produces 375bhp. The diesel unit will return 51 mpg while the petrol option returns 34 mpg.
There's plenty of on-board space in this impressive saloon since the wheelbase has been made longer with the rear passengers particularly benefiting from more headroom. There's also a much larger boot.
Since the XF is up against very stiff competition, there's lots of equipment to help tempt drivers. Many will like the head-up display which projects the car’s vital information onto the windscreen. There's also adaptive cruise control, parking assistant, LED headlights and automated emergency braking and an infotainment system.
The driving experience is also very impressive, it's a responsive and well-made car to deliver excellent levels of driving fun with the steering offering good feedback and its all-round agilities will impress; the XF is great to drive whether around town or out on the motorway where it is agile and comfortable for long journeys.
Essentially, as an executive car the Jaguar XF is hard to beat with a luxurious interior and impressive levels of handling.
