The Honda Super N is a four-seat electric hatchback measuring just 3.60 metres nose to tail, built for city streets, short commutes and tight parking. It's Honda's smallest electric car in the UK, and it makes no attempt to be anything bigger.
It suits drivers doing local miles: the school run, the station, the supermarket, a weekday commute that ends on a driveway with a charger. As a second car in a two-car household it makes a lot of sense. As a motorway workhorse, honestly, it doesn't.
Choosing one is refreshingly simple. There's a single hatchback body, a single electric powertrain with a 29.6 kWh battery and 94 bhp, and a single trim called Advance.

The Super N is a small electric hatchback with four seats, a 162-litre boot with the rear seats up and up to 128 miles of WLTP range. It's designed around urban driving rather than long-distance work.
Its roots are in Honda's Japanese small-car thinking, and the styling nods to the boxy, wide-arched Honda hot hatches of the 1980s. Reviewers consistently call it one of the most entertaining cheap electric cars on sale, praising the light 1,097 kg kerb weight, the well-judged steering and how much rear legroom Honda has extracted from a 2.52 m wheelbase.
The criticisms are just as consistent: range is modest, and with four people aboard the seats-up boot fills quickly. Fold the rear seats and you get 967 litres, which changes the picture entirely.
Because there's one specification and it's a generous one. Every Super N gets adaptive cruise control, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, keyless entry and start, built-in navigation, climate control and an electrically adjustable driver's seat as standard.
The driver-assistance kit is strong for the size of car: autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beam, a rear-view camera and front and rear parking sensors. Privacy glass, rain-sensing wipers, power-folding mirrors and DAB radio are standard too.
Practically, the turning circle is 10.6 m and the car is 1.63 m wide without mirrors, which is what makes multi-storeys and terraced streets painless. Spare wheel provision is a tyre repair kit. Insurance sits in group 27.
There's only one, so the real question is whether an electric car of this size fits your week. If most of your driving is local and you can charge at home or at work, it fits comfortably.

There's one trim, Advance, so the decision is really about paint and options rather than equipment levels.
Advance is the whole range: 94 bhp, front-wheel drive, 15-inch "Matcut" alloy wheels and part-leather trim. It brings LED headlights, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, combi fabric and leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, and eight speakers including a centre speaker, front tweeter and subwoofer.
The Advance is currently available from £299.72 a month.
Five colours are offered across the range: Boost Violet, Crystal black, Mono Grey, Platinum white and Seabed blue. Availability of individual colours and options varies by build, so it's worth checking before you commit to an order.
