View dealThe Genesis G80 is a full-size electric luxury saloon, and it sits at the top of the Genesis range in the UK. If you want a quiet, lavishly trimmed four-door that covers long motorway miles without fuss, it belongs on your shortlist.
There's one body style, one powertrain and two trims, so the choice is refreshingly simple: every G80 is a 365 bhp, all-wheel-drive electric saloon with a 94.5 kWh battery, and you're picking between Dynamic and Luxury.
It's a car for drivers who'd rather not have the obvious German badge on the bonnet, and who value interior quality and refinement above outright sportiness.

The G80 is Genesis's flagship saloon in the UK: 5.14 m long, five seats, and electric only. Reviewers consistently rate the cabin among the very best in the class and single out how quiet it is at speed.
The same testers are equally consistent about the downsides. The 334-litre boot is small for a car of this length.
Genesis backs it with a five-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty, and the battery carries its own eight-year, 100,000-mile cover guaranteeing 70% of capacity. For a brand still building recognition here, that's a meaningful part of the pitch.
Because the standard specification is unusually complete, which removes most of the agonising over options. Every G80 is all-wheel drive with adaptive suspension, matrix LED headlights, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera and three-zone climate control.
Driver assistance is thorough: adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, active lane-change assist, automatic high beam, autonomous emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors and automatic parking assist all come as standard.
So do heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, electric seat memory, wireless phone charging, a powered tailgate, keyless entry and start, and a heat pump, which helps keep efficiency respectable in cold weather. Insurance group 50 applies across the range, so get a quote before you commit.
There's only one, so the decision is really whether electric suits your life rather than which engine to pick. The short answer: if you can charge at home or at work, it works beautifully.
A 94.5 kWh battery, 365 bhp and 700 Nm through all four wheels, with an automatic gearbox. WLTP electric range is up to 354 miles and 0-62 mph takes 5.1 seconds. Rapid charging runs 10-80% in 25 minutes at 350 kW on the best version.
At home, an 11 kW wallbox takes it from 10-100% in 8.5 hours on the best version, so overnight charging is straightforward. Our electric car guide covers the basics if this is your first EV.

Two trims, both with the same 365 bhp all-wheel-drive powertrain and 19-inch alloy wheels: Dynamic covers the essentials handsomely, while Luxury concentrates on the rear seats.
Dynamic brings 19-inch alloys, leather upholstery, a leatherette dashboard, satellite navigation and the 27-inch panoramic OLED infotainment and cluster display, plus heated front seats. Four-wheel steering is available as a factory option, and road testers rate it highly for low-speed manoeuvring in a car this long. Deals for the Dynamic come and go, so ask our team what's available.
Luxury adds a leather stitched steering wheel centre pad and turns its attention to the back seats: heated rear seats, ventilated rear seats and Rear Ergo. Up front it adds massaging and ventilated seats, and four-wheel steering remains optional. The Luxury is currently available from £863.16 a month.
A Comfort Pack is offered as an add-on rather than a trim of its own, and availability varies by individual deal, so check the version you're looking at. If you're unsure how far to go on specification, our guide to choosing your car is a sensible place to start, and you can see the wider Genesis range too.
