The Geely EX2 is a compact electric SUV built around space rather than showmanship: five seats, a 375-litre boot and a body just 4.14 metres long. It's the smallest car Geely offers in the UK, and it's aimed squarely at drivers who want an affordable EV that still swallows a pushchair and a weekly shop.
There's one body style, one electric powertrain family and three trims - Pro, Max and Ultra. Battery size is the real decision: 35.4-47.1 kWh across the range, with WLTP range from 156 miles up to 214 miles.
If most of your driving is local and you can charge at home or at work, it makes a lot of sense. If you spend half your life on the motorway, look harder at the range figures before you commit.

The EX2 is Geely's small electric SUV: five seats, five doors, rear-wheel drive, and a 375-litre boot that expands to 1,320 litres with the rear seats folded. It sits below the brand's larger models in the UK line-up.
Reviewers consistently single out the interior space - rear legroom and boot volume are both unusually generous for a car of this footprint - and the ride, which road testers describe as soft and settled rather than sporty. The criticism is equally consistent: the design is anonymous, and the driver-assistance systems have been called intrusive, with several testers noting Geely has issued over-the-air updates to make them quicker to switch off.
Geely backs it with an 8-year / 125,000-mile warranty, which is well beyond the usual three years.
Because the EX2 is generously equipped even at the entry point, and leasing lets you take a warranty-covered EV from a brand that's still establishing itself here without carrying its long-term resale value yourself.
Every EX2 gets adaptive cruise control, keyless entry and start, built-in navigation, a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, LED headlights, privacy glass and an electrically adjustable driver's seat. Safety kit is standard across the range too: autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, active lane-change assist, traffic sign recognition, a rear-view camera and rear parking sensors.
Practical details matter more on a car this size. The turning circle is 10.0 metres, insurance sits in groups 14-19 depending on version, and servicing is every 24 months or 20,000 miles - which keeps maintenance interruptions rare over a typical lease term.
There's one powertrain type - fully electric, automatic, rear-wheel drive - offered with two battery sizes.
A 35.4-47.1 kWh battery and 81-114 bhp, with WLTP range from 156 miles up to 214 miles. It's an automatic, so there's no gearbox to think about, and it needs plugging in. Home or workplace charging makes it work; relying on public rapid chargers alone will test your patience. Our electric car guide covers the basics if this is your first EV.
| Electric | |
|---|---|
| Boot | 375 litres |
| Power | 81–114 bhp |
| Seats | 5 |
| Battery | 35.4–47.1 kWh |
| 0–62 mph | 11.5–14.2 s |
| Electric range (WLTP) | 156–214 miles |
Three trims: Pro, Max and Ultra. The jump from Pro to Max is about power, and the jump to Ultra is about comfort and convenience kit.
The entry version, with the 81 bhp motor, 16-inch low-drag alloy wheels on Yokohama tyres and artificial leather upholstery. A vegan leather wrapped console, rear-view camera, adaptive cruise control and keyless entry with passive start are all included.
The Pro is currently available from £258.85 a month.
Max keeps the Pro's equipment list unchanged - nothing is added to the standard kit - but it's the 114 bhp version, so it's the one to look at if you want the longer legs and stronger performance rather than extra features.
The Max is currently available from £281.08 a month. Against the Pro, that is currently £22.22/mo more expensive.
Ultra is the comfort-and-tech trim. It adds a 540-degree panoramic camera with transparent chassis view, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, wireless phone charging, a power tailgate and 256-colour ambient lighting, on the 114 bhp powertrain.
The Ultra is currently available from £301.68 a month. Against the Max, that is currently £20.60/mo more expensive.
