Ford Transit Custom Lease Deals

The Ford Transit Custom on this page is the Nugget camper MPV: five seats, a 2.0-litre diesel engine and a choice of Nugget Titanium or Nugget Active trim. Our guide explains what the range offers and how to pick between the two versions before you look at the live deals below.

The Ford Transit Custom here is the Nugget: a five-seat MPV, sold with a full Ford warranty behind it.

It suits couples and small families who want weekends away without owning a caravan, and who'd rather have one vehicle doing both jobs. At from about 5.05 metres long and 2.04 metres tall, it's a big thing, but no bigger than the van it's based on.

The choice is simple: one body, a 2-litre diesel engine with 148–168 bhp, manual or automatic, front- or all-wheel drive, and two trims - Nugget Titanium and Nugget Active.

About the Ford Transit Custom

This is the current Transit Custom, on sale in this form since 2023. Five seats, a length from about 5.05 metres, and a 3-year / 100,000-mile manufacturer warranty - unusual reassurance in a market full of small-volume conversions.

Reviewers consistently praise the layout, and build quality gets steady approval. The common criticism is that with four people aboard it feels snug, and some of the camping hardware takes practice.

On the road it drives like a well-sorted van - easy to place, comfortable at a cruise, and the diesel gets a bit vocal when pushed. Braked towing runs up to 2,500 kg on the strongest version.

Why lease a Ford Transit Custom?

Because the kit list is generous before you open a single option box, and because a lease keeps a specialist, expensive vehicle on a fixed monthly cost for a fixed term. That matters more on a camper than on an ordinary family car.

Every version gets heated front seats, keyless entry and start, wireless phone charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, privacy glass, ambient lighting, roof rails and rain-sensing wipers. Power-folding mirrors and automatic headlights are standard too.

On safety, the whole range has autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, automatic high beam, LED headlights, front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera. Handy, given the dimensions.

One leasing point worth raising early with our team: campers are often driven few miles but stored for long periods, so think carefully about the annual mileage you commit to. Our guide to choosing mileage, term and spec is a sensible read first.

Which Transit Custom powertrain is right for me?

There's one engine family to consider, so the real decisions are gearbox and driven wheels. Diesel remains the sensible fit for a heavy vehicle that tows, carries camping gear and covers long distances to reach the good places.

Diesel

The 2-litre diesel produces 148–168 bhp, with a 6 or 8-speed gearbox and front- or all-wheel drive. Official economy is 31.0–32.5 mpg with CO2 of 228–239 g/km from a 55-litre tank. All-wheel drive suits damp grass, forest tracks and winter trips; front-wheel drive is fine for most.

Which Transit Custom trim should I choose?

Two trims, both five-seat, both riding on 17-inch alloy wheels with cloth upholstery. Nugget Titanium is the more conventional-looking one; Nugget Active brings the outdoorsy styling and folds several driver-assistance features into the standard price.

Nugget Titanium

Titanium starts the range at 148 bhp with front-wheel drive, on 17-inch "Twin Spoke" alloy wheels, with fixed LED headlamps, privacy glass and air conditioning. Adaptive cruise control, built-in navigation, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, a heated steering wheel and a fixed towbar are all available as options.

The Nugget Titanium is currently available from £1,218.12 a month.

Nugget Active

Active swaps to 17-inch "Y-spoke" alloys and a more rugged look, and makes standard what Titanium charges for: adaptive cruise control, built-in navigation, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and dual-zone climate control. A 360-degree camera, heated steering wheel and fixed or retractable towbar stay optional.

The Nugget Active is currently available from £1,296.28 a month. Against the Nugget Titanium, that is currently £78.16/mo more expensive.

Paint runs to seven colours across the range: Agate black, Artisan red, Blue, Frozen white, Grey matter, Magnetic and Moondust silver. Worth checking which are available on the deal you're looking at, because that varies.

Ford Transit Custom FAQs

It has five seats and four doors, and reviewers rate the living layout highly for short trips with children. With four people staying overnight it's cosy rather than roomy, so it works best for couples plus two, or a family doing weekends rather than a fortnight.

Yes, and that's the point of it. It's from about 5.05 metres long and 2.04 metres tall, so height barriers and tight multi-storeys need thought, but front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera are standard on every version and it's an easy thing to drive.

It can. Braked towing capacity across the range runs from 2,300 kg up to 2,500 kg depending on version, which covers most boat trailers and horseboxes. A fixed towbar is an option on both trims, and Nugget Active also offers a retractable one - specify it at order, not later.

Ford's manufacturer warranty is 3 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. That high mileage ceiling is worth noting if you plan long touring trips. There's also a full-size spare wheel, which is genuinely useful on a vehicle you'll take to remote places.

Official WLTP figures are 31.0–32.5 mpg, with CO2 of 228–239 g/km and a 55-litre tank. Real-world returns depend heavily on load, roof position and speed. If diesel ownership is new to you, our guide to diesel particulate filters explains what regular long runs actually do.

It depends entirely on what's available at the time. Rentals move as stock, terms and mileage profiles change, and the trim that leads one week may not the next. Check the current Transit Custom deals below, or look across the wider Ford leasing range if you're still weighing things up.
