ENGINES AND PERFORMANCE FOR THE FORD TOURNEO CONNECT

The Ford Tourneo Connect car lease comes with the Blue Oval's latest turbocharged EcoBlue diesel engine. It's available with two outputs, either 100 PS or 120 PS, and offers a quiet and responsive drive.

The 1.5-litre diesel engine is mated to either a new, advanced eight-speed automatic gearbox, or a refined six-speed manual gearbox.

Both transmissions deliver smooth gear changing and there's plenty of power in the engine when overtaking, for example. Fuel consumption for the Tourneo Connect is up to 60mpg and helped with the start-stop function.

EQUIPMENT AND HANDLING FOR THE FORD TOURNEO CONNECT

While the contract hire Ford Tourneo Connect is based on a popular van, this is an MPV with lots of space and which is also very easy to drive.

The MPV market is a competitive one but the five seat Tourneo Connect really does succeed. There's a larger Grand Ford Tourneo Connect that can seat up to seven that's also available. The engines offer good levels of performance and make the Tourneo Connect a sound motorway cruiser.

And unlike some competitors, this is an MPV to lease that really does have car-like handling and it's a refined vehicle to drive around town.

It has four stars for safety from Euro NCAP with features that include pre-collision assist that will detect pedestrians and vehicles in the road ahead. The system will sound an alert and if you do not respond in time, it will automatically apply the brakes to avoid an accident.

There's also electronic stability control, traction control and anti-lock braking. It's also packed with airbags, and should you need to tow a trailer, then the trailer sway control will help detect and reduce any sway or trailer 'snaking'. There's also a tyre pressure monitoring system and anti-tamper door locks.

There's no doubt that this is a premium car leasing offering with good use of quality materials throughout the cabin to make this a relaxing environment for the driver and passengers alike.

Along with smartphone wireless charging, there's also Ford's Sync3 infotainment system that includes satnav and natural voice commands. It utilises an eight-inch colour display with 'pinch and swipe' gestures. The Tourneo Connect also uses the FordPass app that will connect you to the vehicle and will even track its location and lock it remotely.

Other useful features include the 'QuickClear' windscreen system, and flexible seating for up to five passengers - the seats can be folded easily or move forwards to create a larger boot space.

Some models also come with a panoramic sunroof to create an airier and lighter cabin with an electric roof blind. There's a lot to like about the Tourneo Connect, including traffic sign recognition and active park assist to help drivers steer into parking spaces and there's a very good reversing camera.

Essentially, the contract hire Ford Tourneo Connect is an excellent MPV that is practical and easy to drive, and for those who want the space, this is a great car to consider leasing.
