The Fiat Topolino is a two-seat electric car built for short journeys around town. At 2.54 metres long with a 7.2-metre turning circle, it parks where almost nothing else will - and at 28mph flat out, it goes nowhere near a motorway.
It sits right at the bottom of Fiat's range, below the 500 and Panda, and it isn't really a rival to them. Think of it as covered, weatherproof transport for a couple of miles at a time, with a lot more charm than a scooter.

The Topolino is Fiat's smallest electric vehicle: a two-seat, front-wheel-drive quadricycle with an 8bhp motor, a 7.0kWh battery and a 28mph top speed. It weighs 487kg and measures 1.40m across the body, 1.53m tall.
The name revives the nickname of the original Fiat 500 built between 1936 and 1955, and the styling leans on it heavily - round lights, a chrome-flecked face, colour moulded into the panels rather than painted on.
Reviewers are consistent about it. They love the way it looks and the reaction it gets, and they're blunt about the limits: the ride is jostly over broken tarmac, there's road and motor noise, and it only makes sense if your journeys are genuinely short and genuinely urban. Nobody buys one for the driving experience.
Leasing suits a vehicle like this because it's a single-purpose tool. You commit to a fixed term and hand it back, rather than betting your own money on what a quadricycle is worth in three years' time.
Every Topolino gets LED headlights with LED rear lights and a fixed panoramic glass roof, which does a lot for a cabin this small. Two seats, 14-inch steel wheels, cloth upholstery, and controls stripped back to the essentials.
Be honest with yourself about two things before you order. Its low top speed means it isn't suited to motorway driving.
There's one: a small electric motor driving the front wheels, with a single-speed automatic. No petrol version exists, and there's no manual.
The 7.0kWh battery (5.4kWh of it usable) feeds an 8bhp motor producing 44Nm, good for 28mph. Efficiency is quoted at 7.8 miles per kWh, so it sips electricity. Charging is slow by design - up to 2kW, with 0-80% taking about 3.5 hours at 2.3kW on the best version.
