EQUIPMENT AND HANDLING

There are high hopes for the BMW 7 Series car lease range with the firm making clear that it is redefining the luxury segment with new levels of digitalisation, sustainability and electrification. And, it has to be said, that this is a great creation.

It’s a major step forward from its predecessor and is packed with innovation and technology to deliver a truly high performance saloon. The striking modern style helps it stand out and it is only available in long-wheelbase form in either Excellence or M Sport guises. Next year, the all-electric i7 xDrive60 will boost its popularity even further.

Among the innovations is an incredible 31.3-inch 8K theatre screen for those sitting in the rear seats with the firm’s latest Operating System 8, along with their new interaction bar and curved display. This delivers a futuristic look and makes the car’s interior a very pleasant and comfortable place to spend time. BMW has added Amazon Fire TV and a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system along with touchscreen remotes available in the car’s door panels.

Whenever the theatre screen is switched on, there are automated rear shades that will create privacy. Passengers can play games, get information, stream videos and listen to music while the car is moving, and the screen will fold into the ceiling when not being used.

The new model is slightly larger than the version it replaces to create more space in the cabin and the exterior tweaks include illuminating the kidney grille and there are new twin circular headlights. The rear end has also been given a make-over with elegant and slim LED rear light units giving it an attractive appearance.

There’s also more space for those sitting in the rear, particularly for leg and head room. The seats have multifunction to make them comfortable with the option of executive lounge seats and mounts for attaching tablets.

The new cockpit also sees the removal of various controls, switches and buttons and there’s good use of wood for the interior trim. The curved infotainment display is 12.3-inches wide and there’s a control screen of 14.9-inches too. Both screens share a glass surface to create an impressive look. They are also easy to use.

Passengers also get to enjoy four-zone automatic climate control and there’s a panoramic glass sunroof fitted as standard. BMW also has an option to add the sky lounge which utilises LED units to deliver a light show that impresses at night.

The driving comfort is delivered using an advanced chassis that makes the body more rigid, so drivers get to enjoy precise steering and an agile car. Air suspension also plays its part with electronically controlled dampers for easier manoeuvring and better poise to make this an easy saloon to control.

The new contract hire BMW 7 Series Saloon is packed with safety equipment including collision warning, crossroads warning and a cyclist and pedestrian warning system that has a braking function. Other features include speed limit information with a no-overtaking indicator, speed limit assist and there’s an evasion assistant as well. Drivers can use the option of driving assistant pro which offers automated driving at speeds of up to 112 mph and this utilises the automatic speed limit assist to regulate the car speed and avoid other vehicles on the road.

And since this is a large car, the parking assistant plus along with the reversing assistant fitted as standard makes parking easy. For something a little smaller you can view the latest BMW 5 Series lease deals here.

Essentially, this is a stylish and well-made luxury saloon, and the BMW 7 Series leasing range offers superlative levels of luxury and is definitely an ultimate driving machine.
