Overview of the BMW 3 Series
The BMW 3 Series is the firm's most popular creation and the latest seventh generation made its debut to widespread acclaim. The new car is a well-built and practical family offering and its wider track and longer wheelbase gives the car excellent driving dynamics.

There are four upgraded four-cylinder engines for the BMW 3 Series and a new generation six-speed manual transmission.
For those who like lots of power, then the 2.0 litre four-cylinder diesel units featuring twin-powered turbo technology will impress with improved efficiency across the rev range, especially at the lower end. The average fuel consumption ranges from 49 mpg to 67 mpg with each engine delivering lots of torque and power.
Even the entry-level BMW 318D produces 150 HP and will sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just over eight seconds. Its top speed is 140 mph with fuel economy of around 56 mpg.
The top performer is the BMW 330e which has 252 HP and with 'XtraBoost' this rises to 293 HP with a sprint time of six seconds.
There's also a new plug-in electric hybrid available with a combined output of 252 HP and useful 420Nm of torque and it has an all-electric range of more than 35 miles.
