Leasing a Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace
Stylish seven-seater impresses
Lots of high-tech equipment. The contract hire Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace is an impressive and stylish seven-seater SUV that is packed with equipment. There's also more space than in its sibling - and a bigger boot too.
ENGINES AND PERFORMANCE FOR THE VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN ALLSPACE
The engine line-up for the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace car lease is very similar to the sibling’s range. The most popular is likely to be the 2.0-litre TDI diesel unit, particularly the twin-turbocharged unit producing 237 bhp. It offers great performance, though the 2.0-litre TDI engine producing 148 bhp delivers economy and performance.
The Allspace has the choice of either 1.5-litre or 2.0-litre TSI petrol engines and they are mated to either a DSG automatic transmission, or a six-speed manual box. There is also the firm’s all-wheel drive system, 4Motion, for the 2.0-litre engines.
Fuel consumption for the diesel engines range from 40 mpg to 47 mpg, with emissions of between 129g/km and 147g/km. The petrol engines return around 37 mpg with emissions of 154g/km.

EQUIPMENT AND HANDLING FOR THE VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN ALLSPACE
Handling for the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace is impressive, and it's a comfortable contract hire car to drive around town, but it really stands out as a motorway cruiser.
The suspension delivers a smooth ride, and some models have adjustable suspension with driving modes to deliver a sportier ride. We found that the ‘comfort’ mode was the best of them with nice handling.
The Tiguan Allspace has seven seats to make this VW SUV one to rival the likes of the Skoda Kodiaq and the Land Rover Discovery Sport. However, the third row of seats are only suitable for children but there is a lot of equipment fitted as standard.
Along with 18-inch alloy wheels, drivers also get parking sensors, climate control and a satnav. Other models feature larger alloy wheels, adaptive cruise control, a distinctive body kit for the R-Line Tech and autonomous emergency braking is also fitted as standard.
There's no doubt that the Tiguan Allspace has been well-designed and there's a good use of quality materials throughout – it is a nicer cabin than many rivals with more comfort.
The SEL trim is worth considering for refinement and luxury and the active info display, which displays the instrument panel behind the steering wheel, is slick and easy-to-use.
The extra space in the cabin means there is plenty of room for occupants and safety features include automatic emergency braking when travelling at low speeds, traction and stability control systems and lane-keeping assist.
Essentially, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace car lease is a rugged and practical alternative to its sibling without having to compromise on style or luxury. The equipment list impresses but it is for the handling and extra space that helps this vehicle stand out in the SUV segment.
