Overview of the Volkswagen Caddy

Spacious Caddy impresses - More connected, more efficient

For anyone wanting to lease a small van, the spacious Volkswagen Caddy will impress. The latest Caddy offers more efficient engines, more connectivity and more digital equipment.

ENGINES AND PERFORMANCE FOR THE VOLKSWAGEN CADDY

There are new four-cylinder engines available for the Volkswagen Caddy van leasing range which comply with the latest emissions standards.

The 2.0-litre diesel unit has outputs of 102 PS or 122 PS. There's also a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine delivering 114 PS.

The power is delivered using either a six-speed manual gearbox, or the firm's seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.

The diesel unit offers lower emissions with a new twin dosing AdBlue set-up.
The engines are refined, and the diesels are very quiet.

EQUIPMENT AND HANDLING FOR THE VOLKSWAGEN CADDY

This is the fifth generation of the contract hire Volkswagen Caddy and the firm has shifted more than three million units since its launch. The latest Caddy has been completely redesigned with lots of space with the Caddy Maxi having enough room for two Euro pallets.

The van’s payload is 780kg, while loads of up to 3.7 cubic metres can be carried.
It's not just as a van that the Caddy scores well, it's a versatile shuttle, family MPV and campervan.

The new offering is fresh for 2021 and has been created on a new platform which led to the redesign and the result is an enjoyable van to drive. In many ways, the Caddy sets the benchmark for the segment with new equipment including electric motors to close the tailgate and sliding doors.

There's also a panoramic sunroof and 18-inch alloy wheels fitted as standard.
Drivers also get LED headlights and rear lights, as well as keyless access. There's also a new digital cockpit as well as a new infotainment and radio system. The infotainment display is between 6.5-inches and 10-inches.

The Volkswagen Caddy lease is available as the Cargo, that is a panel van with an enclosed superstructure, or as an estate with passenger compartment windows.

It will also be available as an MPV in various passenger car variants.
Indeed, not only is the Caddy car-like to drive - unlike many rivals - it is based on the latest VW Golf and has a suspension that delivers great comfort levels - even when there is no cargo onboard.

Safety features for the new VW Caddy include travel assist, a redesigned multifunction steering wheel, trailer assist and rear traffic alert. There's also a new eCall system that will automatically contact the emergency services should the Caddy be involved in an accident.

The new connectivity features consist of an integrated eSim so the infotainment system is always connected for mobile online services.

Not for nothing does Volkswagen say that its contract hire Caddy is the 'Swiss Army knife of family MPVs and urban delivery vans' - this is a great creation and for those who want a reliable small van or people carrier, then you need it on your shortlist.
