Overview of the Suzuki Swace

ENGINES AND PERFORMANCE FOR THE SUZUKI SWACE

The Suzuki Swace is a hybrid estate and it's a sensible choice for contract hire drivers. There's a 1.8-litre petrol engine, a battery producing 71 bhp with the power being sent to the wheels using a CVT automatic gearbox. The combined power output is 120 bhp. The EV mode will deliver short all-electric distances which should meet most commuters needs.

EQUIPMENT AND HANDLING FOR THE SUZUKI SWACE

The Suzuki Swace offers style and space in a contract hire hybrid estate - it's based on the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports as part of the firm’s collaboration. It's a well-made, and well put together offering for those who need a practical and cheap to run family or business estate car.

The 0 to 62 mph time is 11 seconds, and the top speed is 112 mph - the WLTP fuel economy is 65mpg with emissions of 99g/km.

The Swace is taking on the likes of the popular Ford Focus Estate and the latest Skoda Octavia but it does offer an interesting car leasing alternative.

There's a choice of seven paint finishes and the standard equipment list includes 16-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats and dual-zone climate control. Drivers also get a 7-inch digital instrument display and an 8-inch infotainment system that is also smartphone compatible.

The interior does resemble the comfortable Corolla and there's an ambient lighting system and USB ports.

There are just two trims for the leasing range and the range-topper is the Swace SZ5 which has rear and front parking sensors, keyless entry, parking assist, and wireless smartphone charging. This model also features rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring.

Standard safety equipment includes a pre-collision system, lane keeping assist and cruise control. There's also the firm's eCall system that will contact the emergency services should it detect the car has been in an accident.

Drivers also get several driving modes, plus an EV function which put the Swace into electric-only mode to deliver emissions-free driving. The boot size is a practical 596 litres, which extends to 1,066 litres with the rear seats folded flat.

The new hybrid estate is built at the Toyota factory in Derbyshire and this is a stylish and interesting addition to a competitive segment.

Essentially, the Suzuki Swace offers a car leasing opportunity for those who want a well-built and economic family car that delivers a rewarding drive around town and is also a smooth motorway cruiser.
