The Seat Cupra Ateca has a 2.0 litre TSI petrol unit producing 300 PS and torque of 400Nm. The engine is mated to a slick and quick-changing seven-speed DSG transmission to deliver the excellent levels of performance. The Cupra Ateca also has all-wheel drive - called 4Drive - to deliver the power effectively. The 0 to 62 mph sprint time is an impressive 5.2 seconds, with a top speed of 153 mph. The fuel economy will be 38 mpg - but not when it is being put through its paces.

The Seat Cupra Ateca was the first model launched by the carmaker under its Cupra brand. The idea was to offer a sporty and practical combination within a sophisticated design and high levels of performance – and do it better than any other premium SUV. And they've managed to do it. The cabin has also been restyled with comfortable black Alcantara sports seats featuring the Cupra logo and a leather sports steering wheel. The Cupra Ateca is based on the excellent standard version Seat Ateca so the handling is assured and the suspension, even though it has been lowered for the Cupra offering, delivers even stronger grip. There's a long list of standard kit including an 8-inch touchscreen system, keyless entry and start as well as park assist. Seat also offers dynamic chassis control as a standard feature so drivers can alter the set-up to suit conditions and the options include a better sound system and Alcantara bucket seats. Essentially, the Seat Cupra Ateca is a well-made car designed for a specific purpose and it excels at what it does; it's also a practical and comfortable SUV that delivers startling performance to help make it a really enjoyable and fun to drive car.
