The Seat Alhambra has been around a while now and still offers a well-equipped and practical MPV to enjoy. The great driving experience makes this excellent family vehicle one to consider.
Seat offers its Alhambra with a range of diesel and petrol engines with most offering economy of around 50 mpg. There is a very good 2.0 litre diesel unit which produces 181bhp and has emissions of 139g/km - its fuel economy, whether the engine is coupled to the automatic or manual transmission - is 54 mpg. There's also a 1.4 litre petrol engine has an output of 148bhp and fuel economy of 44 mpg, though this drops slightly with the automatic transmission. For drivers with lower mileage, the petrol engine makes a better financial sense than the diesel counterparts.
All of the engines offer punchy performance, despite the Alhambra's size and the gearboxes will also help deliver a nice driving experience.
The Alhambra has direct and responsive steering and is easy to drive around town and it's also a comfortable and stable vehicle at speed on long journeys. There's a lot of space on this well-built MPV and the excellent sliding doors help to make it a practical choice for families. The sliding doors are also a boon for use in car parks.
With seven full-size seats on board, the Seat Alhambra also offers versatility - the seats are easy to move - and there is plenty of luggage space when needed. The car also offers a comfortable ride and is easy to drive despite its dimensions. The interior is also comfortable and well-made, it's particularly robust for family use and equipment includes three zone climate control, alloy wheels, a 6.5-inch touchscreen, rear and front parking sensors as well as lots of cubbyholes dotted around the cabin. Also, the top trim has electrically-operated side doors.
Essentially, the seven seat MPV sector is a closely fought segment and the Seat Alhambra offers a sound alternative to its rivals with my family, economy and high levels of comfort to make it a good choice for a family carrier.
