Engines and performance for the Peugeot Traveller

The Peugeot Traveller is only available with BlueHDi diesel engines and all are good performers for the size of the vehicle. The 1.5 litre diesel unit is particularly impressive delivering torque when driving around town and power for overtaking. The engines are also fairly quiet with a decent performing six-speed manual gearbox and a better eight-speed automatic transmission that delivers a smoother driving experience.

Equipment and handling

There's no hiding the fact that the Peugeot Traveller is based on a van, but this is an MPV with luxurious qualities. However, it also has low running costs and it's a stylish alternative to its rivals. Behind the wheel, it's a comfortable vehicle to drive, particularly on long motorway journeys and it is agile enough to enjoy driving around town. The suspension is very soft which absorbs the bumps on rough roads, but can deliver body roll when driving at speed into corners. The Traveller is available in two different lengths and there's plenty of space on board. Standard kit includes a 7-inch touchscreen for the easy-to-use infotainment system, dual zone climate control, smartphone connectivity and a DAB radio. A reversing camera is an option which many may find useful and there's an impressive head-up display that projects the vehicle's information onto the windscreen. Peugeot have also added cruise control to its traveller along with automatic city braking. The top model is the Allure which features automatic lights and wipers, climate control, cruise control and remote locking. There's also full leather seating and the front seats are heated and have a massaging feature. This version of the Traveller also has parking sensors and a panoramic roof along with a better sound system. 

Essentially, the Peugeot Traveller is a sound offering for those looking for a spacious way to carry up to nine people in a well-made and well-designed MPV offering.
