The Peugeot 108 has just one engine offering and it's an economical and efficient 1.0 litre unit producing 72 bhp. To help economy, there is stop/start functionality and low emissions. Fuel economy is around 59 mpg with emissions of 95g/km - impressive figures for those driving around town.
Equipment and handling
Available in either three- or five-door guise, the Peugeot 108 is a city car hatchback that delivers plenty of style. There's also a decent list of customisation options to make this a small car to love. Around town, the 108 is a comfortable and nimble car to drive and it's no slouch on motorways either. And while it's similar mechanically to the Citroen C1 and the Toyota Aygo, it has a style and character all of its own. The cabin has been well-designed and feels spacious when fully occupied with a 7-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system that is easy to use. The boot size is just 196 litres but that should suit those who are looking for a car of this size. For those who are looking at the five-door 108 model, then there's the option of a folding fabric roof which is easy to use and delivers a comfortable cabin and stylish driving experience when the roof is lowered. Standard equipment includes steel wheels, manual air conditioning, DAB radio and Bluetooth connectivity. The Allure offers a lot more for the money, including alloy wheels, keyless entry and start plus a reversing camera that some may find useful. The top end model delivers tinted rear windows, different paint scheme options, plus automatic air conditioning and front fog lights. Options include a satnav and a safety system along with lane departure warning, active city brake and traffic sign recognition. Essentially, the Peugeot 108 is a compact city car that has been well-designed and well-made and though it is small, it delivers a lot of character and decent levels of performance.
