The e-NV200 Combi is based on an impressive van – it has nice styling, great handling and load capabilities and it’s also one of the best all-electric vehicles available. Nissan says the e-NV200 will cost around 2p to run.
The e-NV200 achieved fame as an all-electric van but Nissan is developing its range and the e-NV200 is also available in other guises – including a very useful seven seat MPV as well as the five seat Combi option. In addition, the e-NV200 Combi is also great to drive and excellent for urban areas. There's currently no other electric vehicle to match it. Based on the excellent NV200, Nissan have raided the parts bin for its excellent Leaf electric car to come up with an impressive offering.
The e-NV200 Combi is easier to handle and drive than its diesel competitors, there's a single speed gearbox and a responsive electric motor. This vehicle is a great choice should you be making short journeys and it has a range of 106 miles on a full charge. Charging takes eight hours though there is a high capacity charger available that will do this in four hours. A rapid charger will also top the battery to 80% in 30 minutes. Once behind the Combi’s wheel, apart from the silence there's very little to indicate it's an electric vehicle since it is nippy and nimble.
As mentioned previously, the e-NV200 Combi costs just 2p per mile to run and with a growing number of free electric charging points being installed around the country these costs could be lower. Standard equipment includes a rear view camera, hill start assist, Bluetooth connectivity, climate control and heated seats. The top speed is 76mph though this drops to 60mph when the battery is running out of charge.
The e-NV200 Combi is a practical choice with lots of space, in the van guise there's 4.2cubic metres of space in the back. The electric version of the NV200 is also slightly longer since the charging point is in the nose of the vehicle. A lot of the Leaf's interior has also been taken too and the Combi’s cabin is a comfortable place to be.
