Engines and performance for the Mini Clubman
Engine choices for the Mini Clubman include one diesel and two petrol units. Power outputs for the engines range from 126 HP to 192 HP. The diesel engine will return around 71 mpg while the petrol engines return around 44 mpg. The engines are mated to either the standard six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed smooth-changing Steptronic transmission with double clutch. All of the engines are turbocharged and deliver a responsive and rewarding drive.
Equipment and handling
The Mini Clubman was revamped in 2019 with new exterior styling and an improved interior. It's a very comfortable place to spend time and it's not only an attractive car to own but also impressively well styled. Every version of the car delivers excellent performance and are great fun to drive, particularly around town. They are also comfortable motorway cruisers with top speeds ranging from 127 mph to 142 mph. The satnav is fitted as standard and the infotainment system is excellent. There's also wireless charging, enhanced Bluetooth and a concierge service with the Mini Clubman having access to the firm's online connected services. Options include a head-up display and a better hi-fi system. The new Clubman is 'always online' and smarter than ever with a 4G SIM card embedded in the vehicle. It's this that will utilise the intelligent emergency call system to report an accident should it detect one has taken place. The same system also enables owners to send navigation destinations from their smartphone and then have the car tell them when the ideal departure time will be. Depending on the trim selected, the Mini Clubman comes with alloy wheels as standard with options of two-tone wheels and a new sports suspension is an option that will reduce the car slightly to boost its (already impressive) agile handling. Along with the 6.5-inch infotainment system, there's smartphone connectivity, real-time traffic information, automatic headlight activation and the Mini 'excitement pack' which projects the Mini logo onto the floor when you open the door. There's no doubt that the Mini Clubman is a great looking and great handling car with a dedicated fan base and the newer versions are excellent choices for those who need a spacious and stylish small car that really delivers fun behind the wheel.
