Leasing a Mercedes-Benz EQC
THE NEW ALL ELECTRIC MERCEDES EQC SUV INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR
The exterior presents a bold a futuristic feel for the EQC, as you might expect, being the brands first all-electric car. A large Mercedes badge on the front grill has a nice white LED running right across the top giving a sort of ‘Halo’ effect. This is like the large red LED light at the back running from side to side. Other things to note are the unusual ‘eco’ wheels which give a different look but also serve a purpose, the unusual ring going around them assisting the drag co-efficient.
Going inside gives a very pleasing aesthetic. An all new interior with some familiar Mercedes features such as the large driver display and excellent Mercedes infotainment system (both of which span a whopping 10.25”). It has its own EQC menus for things like charging, range and so on. There are also some nice ribbed edges around the instrument panel which remind you of the cooling vanes of an hi-fi amplifier. Seats on the entry level car are covered in Mercedes Artico man made leather with a comfort seat and every model has 64 colour LED interior lighting, very nice.
As with many Mercedes models there are Premium and Premium Plus packs on offer. These, although expensive add-ons, provide all kinds of high-tech kit, such as panoramic sunroof, upgraded high-tech audio systems, air-balance suspension, larger AMG alloys and augmented reality video for the sat-nav.
Boot capacity comes in at a relatively healthy 500 litres, which is good enough for most things (baby buggy or golf clubs etc) but it does fall behind its Audi and Tesla counterparts here.
ALL ELECTRIC POWER
The twin (one front and one rear) electric motors in the new EQC pack a combined 408bhp (300kw). This gives a 0-62mph time of 5.1secs which is plenty quick enough for a car knocking on two and half thousand kilos. Mercedes also quote a range of around 250 to 275 miles on a full charge. Talking of which this car has a heat mode that gets the batteries ready for charging so it can take a maximum output of up to 110kw at the appropriate charging station.
The New Mercedes-Benz EQC has undergone millions of miles in testing to ensure that it deserves that three-pointed star badge.
Some of the ways Mercedes have approached charging and mobility with this car are truly innovative and as always the technology available in their voice control, augmented video sat nav and touch control bring real world benefits.
We think Mercedes brings their unique quality to the all-electric market with their high quality and thoroughly innovative crossover SUV.
