Overview of the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque

UPGRADED ALL NEW EVOQUE DOES IT AGAIN
SUV STYLE FOR THE CITY STREETS AND BEYOND
It’s the same size on the outside but bigger on the inside! Which is great and achieved by having a longer wheelbase meaning more interior leg room, particularly in the rear. On the road its extremely easy to drive, its smooth and quiet at speed. For an SUV it handles well and gives some nice feedback through the steering wheel. Going off-road it can wade through a depth of up to 600mm which its better than its competitors, equally too are the approach and departure angles are better too. Really in this sector the Land Rover Evoque will beat its German equivalents. They offer the vehicle in two-wheel drive in the base car, then for everything else they offer two four wheel drive versions, the normal efficient system, moving power from front to the rear wheels and then they have the active system that can also move the power across the axles.
All being said Land Rover have made sure that the new Evoque drives very well on or off road.

ENGINES & PERFORMANCE
There are plenty of engines to choose from with the new Evoque. No less than six currently, with a hybrid due in 2020 also. There are three diesels to pick from. They are the D150, D180 and D240 all giving the same power and their badges suggest. Consumption hovers around the high thirties to low forties on the combined cycle. The D150 is the only one you can have with 2wd and a manual box. The rest are auto and 4wd.
For the petrol line up we have the P200, P250 and P300 again the power is in the name. These are all turbo charged, with automatic gearboxes and all wheel drive. The result is a consumption of around 30mpg combined for all three. The P250 can see off 62 mph in a relatively sprightly 7.5 seconds, which we feel is quite good for a vehicle this size.

EQUIPMENT LEVELS FOR THE BABY RANGE ROVER
As with many Land Rover derived products the model range goes base Evoque, then S, SE and HSE. Then you can add an R-Dynamic pack to any model in that range. This pack will give you the sporty add-ons, different bumper designs, louvres for the bonnet, some models get upgraded wheel designs, aluminium pedals and kick plates and a nice dark headlining.
The basic Evoque model comes with front and rear parking sensors and a reversing camera, a ten-inch colour touch infotainment screen and cruise control with emergency city braking.
Up to the S model and you’ll get the upgraded infotainment system with faster processor and android auto and apple car play, leather seats with 10 way electrically adjustable heated seats and cruise with adaptive speed limiter and traffic sign recognition.
With the SE things get decidedly upmarket. 20” Alloys come as standard, then we have power tailgate, another infotainment screen for the climate control, all LED headlights with pulsating indicators and lastly that full digital drivers display.
Lastly the HSE gives you things like the Meridian sound system, adaptive cruise control with radar and lane keep assist and clear view rear mirror.
We like the fact that Land Rover offer a vegan option for their upholstery in case you don’t want leather seats, that’s great. The boot capacity is ok with 472 litres, but this does fall short of the likes of the Audi Q3 or BMW X1. This being said the interior leg room has vastly increased for the better.

SUMMARY
The second generation of the Evoque provides much of the same as the first generation and a bit more besides. In fact, with things like the integrated handles borrowed from the Velar and optional features like the clear view rear view mirror or ground camera system it takes on a decidedly grown up feel. With its increased interior space, fantastic engine choices and super strong residual values we feel the new Range Rover Evoque provides an excellent leasing proposition.
