The i800 is a spacious eight-seater that is also value for money which is priced competitively to offer a genuine alternative for people looking for a car with lots of room. There's no doubt that the people carrier handles like a van because of its height but it's also surprisingly easy to drive. Even with eight adults on board, there is still plenty of room and the i800's rear row of three seats will still seat adults comfortably. There's even a decent sized boot. With everyone on-board.
Economy for a vehicle of this size is never going to be startling and owners of the i800 will find that they will get around 33mpg and the 0 to 62 mph time is a staid 14.5 seconds, though to be fair anyone driving this is not going to be breaking speed records. The top speed for the vehicle is 112mph. However, the engine is a 2.5 litre diesel which has enough torque to be responsive and effective both in urban environments and out on the motorway. The engine feels sluggish when the i800 is fully loaded but it’s sprightly enough most of the time.
The i800 also comes with electronic stability to help keep control of the vehicle and many will find the ability of adjusting the climate control for different parts of the vehicle a boon. The i800 comes with rear parking sensors which really useful for anybody not used to driving vehicles of this size. Otherwise, the kit list is quite good for a people carrier and includes alloy wheels, air con, privacy glass and remote locking. The options list includes things like satnav, leather seats and metallic paint.
