The Ford S-Max Vignale has a decent choice of engines from a 1.5 litre EcoBoost unit producing 165 PS, which delivers a top speed of 124 mph. The S-Max Vignale was not designed for delivering supercar levels of performance, but the engines are sprightly around town and solid performers on motorway journeys. There's also a 2.0 litre EcoBlue unit with a range of outputs from 120 PS to 190 PS and the top engine is the 2.0 litre diesel unit producing 240 PS and delivering a top speed of 135 mph and the best sprint time. The EcoBlue engines offer decent fuel economy and are sound and reliable performers.
Equipment and handling
The interior of this Ford S-Max Vignale is certainly plush and a great place to spend time with some very nice design ideas and touches installed. Among the features is a rear view camera, parking sensors, door handles with chrome inserts and polished alloy wheels. The S-Max Vignale also has LED adaptive headlights to suit a range of driving conditions, a powered tailgate and premium leather seats. The car also features Ford's excellent Sync3 system using an 8-in touchscreen with emergency assistance for calling emergency services should you be involved in an accident. There's also a nice ambient lighting setup and the excellent audio system features nine speakers and there's a very good satnav on board too. The seats are very comfortable and it's great fun to drive around town, grips well on winding country roads and is a smooth performer on motorways. For most owners, the car will carry five people in comfort and there are two extra seats hidden in the boot for children when needed. There's a lot to like about the Ford S-Max Vignale which offers a well-equipped and luxurious option to one of the best MPV's currently available and is aimed at those Ford drivers who may be tempted to a premium marque with Ford delivering an impressive vehicle to meet just about every need.
