For those who are looking for a comfortable and spacious people carrier, then the Galaxy is a popular leasing choice. Indeed, second-hand versions are among the most popular on car forecourts and there’s a lot to like about what is a big car - it's good to drive and offers a quality interior.
Engines and performance for the Ford Galaxy
The Ford Galaxy was revamped in 2018 to offer new refined engines including an excellent 2.0 litre EcoBlue diesel unit producing outputs from 120 PS to 240 PS. The firm also introduced a new eight-speed automatic gearbox that is a smooth performer with a rotary gear shift. There's also an impressive 1.5 litre EcoBoost petrol unit producing 165 PS, which many may find the better choice, particularly if most of your miles are in towns or cities.
Equipment and handling
Not only will the Ford Galaxy carry seven people in comfort, it's also one of the best large MPV's to drive and own. Safety features were also boosted in the 2018 revamp so drivers get to enjoy adaptive cruise control with stop and go, though this is only available with the eight-speed automatic. There's also an improved version of their blind spot information system and a ‘clearview wiper system’ that boosts visibility. Drivers also get to enjoy the firm's adaptive front lighting system, so the headlights’ beam will be angled for matching the driving environment and prevent dazzling oncoming drivers. Because of its size, some drivers may want hands-free parking manoeuvrability with the active park assist featuring perpendicular parking. There's also the firm’s Sync3 entertainment and communication system to control the satnav, climate and audio functions. There’s a lot to like about the Galaxy, it's a versatile and comfortable vehicle with supportive seats and the seats in the middle row can move forwards or backwards and fold down at the push of a button. There are a lot of storage and cubbyholes in the cabin and a very large boot. As a big vehicle, the Ford Galaxy is one of the best to drive and it's one of the best MPV’s currently available.
